Lent at St. John's and St. Paul's
Please join us in the Parish Hall at noon on Tuesdays during Lent to share a soup and salad meal prepared by Brother Thomas. After the meal we will explore a Gospel story of Jesus sharing a meal with people. Last week we heard and a great discussion on Jesus feeding the 5,000 with loaves and fishes.

Upcoming Deanery Lenten Musical Events
Lenten Choral Evensong featuring Theresa Villani, Cello and St. Alfred's Parish Choir: Sunday, March 15th at 4:00 pm at St. Alfred's Episcopal Church
The service will include hymns, the evening canticles Magnificat and Nunc Dimitri's, a Psalm, sung prayers and an anthem. Prelude and offertory music performed by Theresa Villani.

Tuesday, March 17th from Noon-12:30 pm at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Dunedin Sponsored by the Clearwater Chapter of the American Guild of Organists

Some suggested do’s and don’ts for Lent
- Fast from complaining
- Pray for someone whom you struggle to love
- Put your phone away for an hour a day and be fully present
- Try a new form of prayer
- Pick a day and pray for a different friend or family member every hour
- Write down 5 things for which you are grateful and thank God
- Fast from negativity
- Skip unnecessary social media scrolling
- Give up junk food or caffeine for a day
- Fast from music or noise for an hour and sit in silence with God
- Send a kind message to someone who may need encouragement
- Forgive someone who hurt you – let go of the burden
- Surprise someone with an act of kindness
- Pray for those suffering around the world
Give to others: Donate clothes and household items to the Thrift Shop; consider placing an item each day into a donation bag – 40 items in 40 days, give canned goods or money to Good Neighbors; buy a meal or a coffee for someone that you don't know. Think of other things that you can do for someone else.
