The Business and Professional Women of Englewood and Venice recently met for their monthly meeting on July 19 at Plantation Golf and Country Club. The speaker was Sheila Barry-Oliver, President of BPWFL speaking on career benefits for women participating in external single gender professional organizations.
Amanda Foster and Axa Salas were awarded scholarships from BPWEV to assist them while attending State College of Florida. Ms. Foster is working toward 2 Associate Degrees in Administration and has been attending college since 2012 while being a single parent to 3 children. Ms. Salas will receive a Business Degree from SCF and plans on attending FSU to study law.
Jody Dazio was inducted by Debra Straw, Second Vice President of BPWEV as the newest member and later volunteered to chair Women Helping Women where members donate funds to assist single mothers during the holidays.
Barbara Proctor will be the speaker for the August 16th meeting of BPWEV at The Plantation Golf and Country Club, 500 Rockley Blvd., Venice. The evening begins with networking at 5:15 pm, followed by a speaker and business meeting. Barbara Proctor has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunication. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Barbara has facilitated workshops on various topics important to women in their lives and careers. Barbara is passionate about mentoring women to help them to further their careers and achieve their dream lives!
