Venice Theatre hires Benny Sato Ambush to fill Artistic Director position
Benny Sato Ambush, most recently from Boston, MA where he formerly served as Senior Distinguished Producing Director in Residence at Emerson College, will begin work with Venice Theatre as Artistic Director in late July of this year. He will continue at least through aactWorldFest, the international community theatre festival hosted by Venice Theatre in June 2022. Ambush became acquainted with Venice Theatre when he served as an adjudicator for the 2014 and 2018 international festivals. Text and photo credit: Venice Theatre

Vedder!

Congratulations to Bob Vedder on his new plaque dedicated in Centennial Park! Bob and his Venice In Bloom Team are the Venice Area Beautification Inc. (VABI) volunteers who create and maintain the flower baskets, pots, flower beds, flower fountains and more in downtown Venice. BOATING SKILLS AND SEAMANSHIP
COURSE

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's Boating Skills and Seamanship course is a comprehensive boater certificate course designed for both the experienced and novice boater. Topics include: Which Boat is for You, Equipment for Your Boat, Trailering Your Boat, Handling Your Boat, Highway Signs, Rules of the Road, Lines and Knots, Weather and Boating, Your Boat's Radio, and Navigating the Intra-Coastal Waterway.

The course meets on Zoom---Monday and Thursday evenings, 6-9pm, for 5 days (April 12, 15, 19, 22, 26). At the end of the course, you will receive a USCG Auxiliary Certificate. If you pass the test at the end of the course, your information will be sent to the Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC) for you to receive a Florida Boater Card, which is a license in all states. This is a NASBLA approved course, so it is good in all states. The fee for this course is $40.00, plus cost of the book.
