CDRN Members Gather at UNMC to Enhance Regional Disaster Response Capacity

The Region 7 Center for Public Health Preparedness and Response (PHPR) hosted an in-person Community Disaster Response Network meeting on July 30, 2026 at UNMC. This meeting brought together members of the CDRN to strengthen connections and build a shared understanding of regional resources and to develop a practical resource guide to strengthen response capacity across Region 7. The second portion of the meeting went through a disaster resource tabletop exercise, aiming to identify regional partnerships, gain understanding of the specific PHPR roles, capabilities, and limitations of CDRN member organizations, increasing familiarity with logistical, technical, and community-trust assets across the network and within Region 7 that can be leveraged for public health emergencies and other disasters, and define specific next steps to transition from informal to formal preparedness and response planning within their own organizations.
