Governmental Affairs Update

The 2019 GOTV Guide is now complete and ready to download. Make sure to grab your copy in advance of Election Day and don’t forget to vote by mail or head to the polls on Tuesday, November 5. The U.S. Department of Education issued a question-and-answer  guide  this week specifying that both vocational rehabilitation and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act funds can be used to cover the cost of dual enrollment, comprehensive transition programs and other postsecondary offerings for people with disabilities.
On August 8, 2019, Department of Labor (DOL) released an opinion letter on when parents can take Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) time off for IEP meetings.
DD Training Resources is a new online database, funded by a grant from The NJ Council on Developmental Disabilities and run by The Arc of New Jersey's Family Institute. It provides a wide range of information about trainings and support resources for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout the State of New Jersey.

The new Timeline for Students Exiting School and Turning 21 (Graduates Timeline) has been released. This timeline will no longer identify a specific year, since the information will be the same for every graduating year from 2020 forward.
