WE REMEMBER
Now that the rush of the day’s business has subsided, I want to take a second to reflect on the great tragedy of 9/11/2001. As with all of us, I remember exactly where I was and how I felt – angry and helpless: angry because it happened, helpless because, since I was 22 years old, I considered myself a warrior for our Country and yet I could do nothing but watch and listen. When I spoke to the 500 employees of my company, to a person -man and woman–they felt the same. I recall telling them: “There is nothing we can do except pray for the dead, wounded and their family and then return to work and do our jobs and by doing so contribute to the well-being of our Country.”

Today as we work through the COVID-19 pandemic, the unrest in our cities, and the challenges confronting our County, I ask all of us to take a minute to remember the dead of 9/11 and their families, reflect on the events of the day and then return to our daily tasks and work to make our Town and our Country the best it can be.
