Personalized Cooking Classes

NHBP is happy to offer personalized cooking classes for singles, couples and families! Contact Erin Stark directly to discuss what your cooking needs and interests are. Together, you will determine a date and time that works for both parties at either the Grand Rapids Community Center or the Pine Creek Community Center. The recipe, ingredients and clean-up will all be taken care of!

Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred®

Join us from 5 to 7 p.m. for this 12-week program that celebrates Native American fathers and mothers, and was created to help parents and grandparents understand the importance of their role as caretakers and providers through the lens of Native American values.

Class sizes are limited to 10 participants. Six spots reserved for NHBP Tribal Members and four for Members of other federally-recognized Tribes. Cardio Drumming With Tribal Member Linda Rice

Wear your neon workout clothes and get ready for some fun, Thursdays at 4:35 p.m.! The NHBP HHSD and Tribal Member Linda Rice are hosting virtual and in-person cardio Drumming sessions to keep you warm and in shape for the last stretch of winter.

Classes will be livestreamed for those who can’t attend in person. If you would like to loan out cardio Drumming equipment to join the livestream, get ahold of us and we will set you up with equipment – note that equipment is limited.

NHBP Healthcare Plan Card Update
We understand there has been some confusion and frustration due to the mailing of the new NHBP Healthcare ID Card packets. The Forest County Potawatomi Insurance Department apologizes sincerely for any inconvenience this has caused.

The NHBP Healthcare ID Card packet mailed in January 2022 contained a cover letter and CastiaRX insert page – these were an older version of the cover letter and insert from 2019. Please be assured that the new NHBP Healthcare ID cards that you recently received are the correct cards and you should start to use them immediately.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Know that we are currently working with our ID card vendor to ensure this mistake does not happen in the future.

Medicare Reimbursement
For NHBP Tribal Elders

Tribal Elders can be reimbursed for the premium paid to Medicare for your Part B that was deducted from your benefits. Tribal Council has approved reimbursement to NHBP Tribal Elders who have paid for their Medicare Part B. Click here to learn more.


Upcoming Supreme Court Oral Arguments

Oral arguments will be held via Zoom by the NHBP Supreme Court on Thursday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. ET with regard to an enrollment case appeal, and at 2:30 p.m. ET with regard to an election case appeal. For more information, please click here.

Closed to Public

Out of an abundance of caution due to the ongoing pandemic, the NHBP Government Center is indefinitely closed to the public at this time. Tribal Members will need to make an appointment for any business that may require in-person meetings.

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic
NHBP Health and Human Services Department will be hosting a walk-in COVID-19 Moderna Vaccine Clinic at the Pine Creek Community Center on Thursday, Feb. 3. The vaccine clinic will run in the morning from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This vaccine clinic is open to tribal members, clinic patients, and NHBP employees ages 18 and up. If you are unable to make it to the vaccine clinic and are interested in receiving your COVID-19 vaccine or booster, please contact one of the health clinics to schedule an appointment at 269.729.4422 for Pine Creek or 616.249.0159 for Grand Rapids. 


Free Over-the-Counter
At-Home COVID-19 Testing Kits

Individuals covered by NHBP Healthcare are able to purchase over-the-counter COVID-19 tests authorized by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) at your local in-network pharmacy, at no individual out- of-pocket cost.

Limit of eight tests per covered individual every 30 days, and kits must be purchased at pharmacy counter.

Given the increased demand and supply chain challenges, there will likely be shortages of test kits. Please contact your local pharmacy to determine availability.

At-home COVID-19 tests can also be picked up at the Grand Rapids and Pine Creek Health facilities. Please contact the NHBP Health and Human Services Department at Pine Creek at 269.729.4422 or Grand Rapids at 616.249.0159 to determine availability and schedule a time to pick up your test kits.


COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccines for Children Ages 5-11

NHBP Health and Human Services Department is offering vaccination to any Federally Recognized Tribal Member or Descendant and employee household children, ages 5-11 at our Clinics, by appointment only. Click here for CDC recommendations.
