Bastrop Citizen's Police Academy | |
Would you like to learn more about Bastrop Police Department? Want to help prevent crime in your neighborhood? What about meet local patrol officers and become familiar with PD policies and procedures?
If so, join Bastrop Police Department for the Citizen's Police Academy every Thursday starting September 8, 2022 from 6:00pm until 8:30pm. This 10-week course will cover topics on:
- Patrol Procedures
- Criminal Investigations
- Crime Scene Processing
- Bike Patrol
- Evidence
- Animal Control
- Mock Traffic Strops
- Hands On Interactions
- 9-1-1/Communications
You will learn about crime fighting programs, how your tax dollars are spent on training and equipment, how the Department works within the City, the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, and the (C.O.P.) Citizens on Patrol Program. Above all you will learn how to become an active participant in crime prevention in your neighborhood and the community.

The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce puts on this community-wide event annually to celebrate the 4th of July at Fisherman’s Park. An annual 5k run begins the day and is open to runners of any age. Water wonderland, kiddie train rides, retail vendors, and various family-friendly activities, such as food eating contests, are available throughout the day as well as a packed food court! The celebration is finished with live music and the largest fireworks show in Central Texas. Check out the schedule here.

Downtown Bastrop
Bastrop Music Festival is a four-day live music festival that includes around 40 shows at venues throughout Bastrop. Shows run simultaneously at the various venues with nighttime shows starting at approximately 6 p.m. and ending at closing time. Daytime activities are free and open to the public and include live music at the box office location and free shows specifically geared toward children. A variety of musical genres are represented in the lineup, offering something for nearly every musical taste.
