Ancient Sparks: Redefining Early Technology
While our focus is on maritime exploration, we keep a close eye on global archaeological breakthroughs that support our core belief: that human history is far more advanced and interconnected than previously thought.
A ground-breaking study recently published in Nature revealed evidence of deliberate fire ignition by ancient humans at Barnham, England, dating back 400,000 years. This pushes back the timeline for controlled fire-making by an incredible 350,000 years. It proves that our ancestors possessed sophisticated material knowledge and planning abilities long before "modern" history began. Just as these early humans were mastering technology in the British outback, we believe later mariners were mastering the oceans with equal ingenuity.
Building Academic Credibility
Under Dr. Mark M. Newell's leadership, we're continuing to develop rigorous documentation standards. This ensures that when we publish findings, they meet international academic standards and command respect in the scholarly community.
The Boring-But-Important Bit: Gift Aid
We delighted that we have now submitted our Gift Aid application to the UK’s HMRC. Once approved, for every pound donated by UK taxpayers to the Gavin Menzies Research Foundation, we automatically get an extra 25 pence from the government at no extra cost to you. It adds up remarkably quickly and will go directly to funding our exciting field work.
Help Us Keep Exploring
