Not for School, But for Life We Learn. -Seneca

Good afternoon Falcon Families and Community,

Another great weekend at Menendez High School last week. Students and faculty are truly rising to elevate our community high school to new heights. We are seeing great work and habits coming from the students. We are also seeing better attendance rates and less students arriving late to school. This will translate into increased success for all of our students.

Parents, SJCSD has sponsored two great events in the coming week. Whether you have a freshman or a senior, we recommend both events. The Career Night is at SAHS on September 6. The College Fair is the next night at Nease High School.

Senior parents, please make sure to look through the entire newsletter as there is important information from Jostens regarding graduation.

Please see the flyer below regarding digital IDs. These will be utilized this year for students in the media center, cafeteria, checking in and out and other school events. If your child does not have a cell phone, we do have alternative options. IN addition, all students must complete the form below to access the SJCSD network and acknowledge access to the SJCSD student code of conduct.

A multitude of our clubs are recruiting or have begun to meet. Information regarding clubs is posted throughout the campus. Best Buddies spent the past two weeks recruiting members. Other clubs like HOSA have already had their first meeting. Please encourage your child to get involved in something of interest. Information on clubs are posted around campus and near the bottom of the Menendez Message.

Visitors to campus MUST complete a School Access Form which can be found on the SJCSD website at https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/volunteer/.

  • This clearance is for entry on campus during school hours such as a morning meeting with teachers or counselors, volunteering, or other events.

As the year progresses, the message will fill with information for our students, parents and our community. Please make sure to subscribe to The Menendez Message at the link below.

We look forward to unlocking the potential of each student and Menendez High School this coming school year. RISE UP FALCONS!

Respectfully,

Ted Banton
