Not for School, But for Life We Learn. -Seneca

Good afternoon Falcon Families and Community,

We had a great week at PMHS this past week. Students have been focused in their classes and classwork and we are seeing a rise in student achievement. This will be capped off this week as interims will be available on September 12th. Furthermore, FAST testing for 9th and 10th grade students will begin the following week on September 18th and 19th. We are extremely impressed with the focus the Menendez students have taken thus far this year.

Parents, please remind your child that Picture Day is tomorrow.

We also had a number of events this past week to celebrate a number of students. Hats off to the SAHS and PMHS volleyball teams for their Best Buddies Fundraiser last week. All the proceeds from the baskets will be going to the Best Buddies Club and the volleyball game for the students was awesome.

We also had our second pep rally of the year. Students had a great time and our cheer, dance and band students did a great job rallying up the crowd. We are very thankful for such a spirited student body.

Senior parents, please make sure to look through the entire newsletter as there is important information from Jostens regarding graduation.

Please see the flyer below regarding digital IDs. These will be utilized this year for students in the media center, cafeteria, checking in and out and other school events. If your child does not have a cell phone, we do have alternative options. IN addition, all students must complete the form below to access the SJCSD network and acknowledge access to the SJCSD student code of conduct.

A multitude of our clubs are recruiting or have begun to meet. Information regarding clubs is posted throughout the campus. Student Council is working to organize a great community-wide event on October 25th. Please encourage your child to get involved in something of interest. Information on clubs are posted around campus and near the bottom of the Menendez Message.

Visitors to campus MUST complete a School Access Form which can be found on the SJCSD website at https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/volunteer/.

  • This clearance is for entry on campus during school hours such as a morning meeting with teachers or counselors, volunteering, or other events.

As the year progresses, the message will fill with information for our students, parents and our community. Please make sure to subscribe to The Menendez Message at the link below.

We look forward to unlocking the potential of each student and Menendez High School this coming school year. RISE UP FALCONS!

Respectfully,

Ted Banton

Academies are off to a great start. Students are signing up for their Career and Technical Student Organizations, FBLA, HOSA, SkillsUSA, and ACE mentorship. This is a great opportunity for students to join a club which is directly tied to their academy curriculum. Students meet new friends, participate in student competitions at regional, state, and national levels, attend fieldtrip and so much more. If you need more information about a specific club, please reach out to the academy teachers.

 Athletic Clearance Instructions

Please ensure the following when completing the online process:

1.     Student ID should be entered WITHOUT a preceding “S”. Numeric ID only!

2.     Scan and upload physical as ONE document.

3.     Ensure that student information is complete on page 4 of the physical (EL2).

4.     Ensure that the MD has checked “Medically eligible for all sports without restriction” AND signed and dated page 4 of the physical.

5.     Ensure that student and parent signature/date is completed on bottom of page 4 of the physical.

The only type of physical we accept is the FHSAA EL2 physical form. The updated physical form is 4 pages. Starting the 23-24 school year, the old EL2 form WILL NOT be accepted.
