BGCBigs wants to keep you informed on all things in the community and in youth employment.

Old Navy is willing to host a job shadowing opportunity through their This Way ONward program. Check out some of these cool videos to see how the program impacted real people!

ON the Job is a job shadow program offered by Old Navy where participants can have fun and learn real job skills, with a possibility of being hired. While teens that are 14 & 15 can participate in the program, only youth who are 16+ can be legally hired.
This opportunity can be included in your resume and is what Old Navy looks for when considering your application.

Dates are still to be determined but will most likely be 3rd week in September (Sept 18-22nd), please keep this in mind when selecting dates that work for you.

Connecting Youth To Meaningful Employment.

Starting your first job can be stressful, especially if you are a youth and have barriers to employment.

If you are between the ages of 15 and 30 years old, with barriers to employment, EmployAbilities Learn2Earn program could be for you!

They assist youth with barriers to employment, including disabilities, medical and mental health conditions who are ready, willing and able to take the necessary steps to find and retain employment through training & certifications.

ReBrand: Employment Initiative for Youth in Alberta
If you are currently unemployed and are between the ages of 17 to 30 and are looking to gain entry-level work experience, or need assistance with education-planning, this program may be the right choice for you.

ReBrand is a province-wide program that provides youth in Alberta with an opportunity to develop essential life and career skills.

Participants work through a series of facilitator led program modules that aid in career planning, education planning, stress management, job search, networking, and much more.

The end-goal upon program completion is for program participants to either obtain full-time employment and/or to return to school to pursue further education.
