The Leaders in Training (LIT) program is for youth (ages 13-17) to develop leadership skills and gain valuable practical experience while having fun with children.

It allows youth to give back to their community and earn leadership hours for school.

A Leader In Training supports City of Edmonton recreation leaders to run summer programs for children.
Founded in 1999 by the Edmonton Horticultural SocietyCanadian Union of Postal Workers, and the City of Edmonton to celebrate attractive front yards in Edmonton to celebrate attractive front yards in Edmonton.








A variety of volunteer opportunities are available including volunteering for children's programs, special events or as a zookeeper assistant.

ELIGIBILITY
  • Ages 13+ for Special Event Volunteers
  • Ages 16+ for Visitor Experience Ambassadors
Fort Edmonton Park often requires volunteers to help with community happenings, special events, and general needs around the park!

Join the '23 Summer Season
Create memories with guests as a Costumed Historical Volunteer Interpreter, take pride in beautifying the largest Living History Museum in Western Canada as a Historical Gardener, build your job skills as a Junior Day Camp Leader, or many more! 

Partners in Parks is a beautification program that helps Edmontonians enhance and preserve their local green space.

Registration closes JUNE 30TH or until volunteer spaces are filled.

This season, there are 120 volunteer positions available to Edmontonians. We encourage you to register as soon as possible!



Root for Trees is excited to return with volunteers to plant native trees, shrubs and wildflowers in Edmonton’s naturalized areas.
