Spend your summer making a difference as a Day Camp Counsellor! This program is all about creating fun, safe, and inclusive experiences for children and youth aged 3–15, while building your leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. You’ll be at the heart of camp life — planning and leading activities, engaging with campers, and helping create memories that last a lifetime.
This is a contract position from June 15, 2026 to August 21, 2026.
This position requires flexible availability between 7:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Specific hours of work will vary based on program needs.
Requirements:
- Minimum 16 years of age.
- High school diploma or post-secondary education related to recreation, child studies, education, or physical education is an asset.
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Intermediate (Standard) First Aid & CPR-C certification or willing to obtain.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Enthusiastic, creative, and confident in leading safe and inclusive activities.
- Eager to learn and open to receiving feedback on soft skills and digital presence in the workplace.
- Experience working with children and youth in camp, recreation, or educational settings is an asset.

Alberta Youth Employment Incentive
Qualified employers can receive up to $7,500 to hire Albertans aged 15 to 24, helping you fill workforce needs today while investing in the skilled workforce of tomorrow.
Hired youth must:
- Be an Alberta resident and Canadian citizen or PR
- Be between 15-24 years of age at the start of employment
- Not be working with the same employer applicant and in the same position at the time of and prior to the employer applying for the incentive

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT INTERNSHIPS
If you want to make some money, earn high school credits, and try out some of Alberta’s most in-demand careers, then you’ve come to the right place.
CAREERS will match you with an employer for a student internship, which is basically a short-term job that gives you hands-on experience.
You can do this during the school year, or over the summer – no experience necessary! Not sure what kind of internship is right for you?

U21 Information Sessions
CAREERS is excited to offer our internship program for youth who are under the age of 21. To qualify for an internship, you must attend one virtual information session presented by CAREERS.
During the presentation you will learn more about the program, discover the various internship opportunities available, and get started on an application. The session will be approximately 45 minutes with time at the end for questions.

Aviation Career Exploration
What: The sky is not the limit with our Aviation Career Exploration (ACE) Summer Camps! Young aviation enthusiasts are invited to spend an exciting week at the Elevate Aviation Learning Centre, discovering the world of aviation through interactive learning and engaging activities.
ACE Summer Camps are a one of a kind experience for curious and adventurous youth aged 10 to 13. Campers will spend a full week at the Edmonton International Airport exploring aviation and aerospace in a fun and interactive environment. Whether your child dreams of becoming a pilot, working around aircraft, or simply loves things that fly, they will enjoy discovering how this exciting industry works.
When: July 13-17
July 20-24 (Girls Only)
July 27-31
August 4-7 (short week)
August 10-14

Girl Guides
Welcome to Girl Guides! We empower young girls and women to be everything they want to be, and as a volunteer, you will help make that happen! We are accepting applications for 2 additional Ember leaders for the Brookside location.
Our volunteers support girls as they build confidence, develop new skills and become leaders in their communities.
As part of a unit’s leadership team, you’ll facilitate fun and engaging program activities, like scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, games and more with our Embers (7-8 years).
Units meet on a weekly basis, during the school year.
We meet on Tuesdays 6.15pm - 7.45pm
Volunteers commit to 3 hours per week for unit meetings plus additional hours, when required, for trips and events.

Sports Central Bicycle Mechanic
The Sport Central Bik Shop distributes over 3000 bikes to kids, annually.
Our Bike shop has volunteer opportunities year round for any skill level.
Our Bike Sop is open from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday*
*Training will be provided for all positions*
- Applicants with no previous bike experience must be available for 3+ hours per shift.
Bicycle Pre-Service:
- Inflate tires
- Install bell, reflector, and Sport Central sticker
- Strip non-functional accessories (baskets, paniers, streamers)
- Wash and label bikes prior to repair
Bicycle Parts Salvage:
- Strip and stock high valued parts, dispose of residuals.
Bicycle Repair:
- Repair
- Test ride, and label pre-serviced bikes in accordance with serviceability standards.

Cananda Day Race - Course Marshal
Join us on Canada Day to volunteer as a Course Marshal. You will help direct participants along the route and cheer them on as they run or walk to support those living with cancer.
Volunteer shift begins at 6:30am and goes to 1pm.
Event is held at the legislature grounds and surrounding communities
Pancake breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided

ScholarshipsCanada.com is part of the SchoolFinder Group. The site has been helping students find scholarships since 1997. Their mission is to help students realize their dreams by making it possible for students to attend the school of their choice without being limited by the cost.
The website lists all relevant scholarships and bursaries free of charge. They try to update each listing annually and students are matched to scholarships and bursaries when they create an account.
