Arm yourself with information to protect yourself from fentanyl poisoning

What else can parents and caring adults do?
According the Operation Parent and the DEA, you can take these steps:
- Let your children know you are concerned about their safety
- Knowing more about the opioid reversal drug (Narcan) and how to use it
- Don't delay conversation. You can instill confidence with your children through communication. This can be many short and strong talks, during car rides or family dinners, you can even pass a notebook back and forth.
- Know phone passcodes/check their phones
- Practice refusal skills with your children
Communicate with Short and Powerful Statements:
- Anything you put in your mouth or arm could contain a lethal dose of Fentanyl
- If a mistake is made by you or a friend call 911 IMMEDIATELY
- Only take pills from a bottle with your name on it
