We are delighted to bring you the first of a regular schedule of communication and information to families, individuals, and the community to enjoy and feel connected to the mission of Abilities First.
Stephanie's Path Toward Independence & Self-Reliance
Stephanie has been in the AF Community Habilitation program for over 20 years. Through her hard work and commitment, Stephanie moved out of her parents' home and into her own apartment in 2018. She takes responsibility for her apartment and herself, manages her own banking, and spends her free time with friends.

You can't help but be inspired by Stephanie's journey as she builds a life for herself that is rooted in independence and self-reliance.

Community Support
YOU Helped Give HEROES HOPE
The interest and generosity of this community to support The Campaign to HONOR OUR HEROES has meant a great deal to the frontline HEROES who carry out the mission of Abilities First. The success of the campaign ensured critical funding was available to safeguard the staff and individuals they support with the purchase of essential PPE (personal protective equipment - masks, face-shields, gowns, goggles, and more). Funding played an invaluable role in enhancing the quality of life, activities, and resources for those individuals who were otherwise restricted to their residential programs and without access to the usual external interactions and recreation they enjoy. Be it exercise equipment, a catered meal, electronics to communicate with family at a distance, or prizes for Bingo night, your support made a profound difference. On behalf of the staff, students, and individuals, Thank YOU for helping us through this difficult time!
