We’re incredibly grateful for the generous support of our corporate sponsors who help make our mission possible. Special thanks to Argos USA, Jefferson Security Bank, Conrad Lutrell, LLC, Orgill, Inc., and Snyder Environmental Services for standing with us in support of children and families across the Eastern Panhandle.

Your investment ensures that more children in foster care have the consistent advocacy, resources, and support they need to thrive. Thank you for being champions of change in our community!

Meet Shelly Dowell, a dedicated CASA advocate of nearly three years. With over 15 years of experience in behavioral and mental health, Shelly saw firsthand the powerful impact a CASA can have in a child’s life—and felt called to be part of that change.

“I was able to help advocate for special funding for [a set of siblings] to have emergency housing, to get them blankets—things like that, that they wouldn't have had otherwise.”

We’re grateful for volunteers like Shelly, whose compassion and advocacy help provide hope and stability to children facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

CASA-EP was thrilled to receive a $500 gift card from Super Shoes in Hagerstown, MD, allowing us to provide dozens of children in the Eastern Panhandle with brand-new shoes. A big thanks to Volunteer Supervisor Mel Stotler, who spearheaded the effort and delivered the shoes to children across Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan Counties, and to Hope Community Church in Berkeley Springs who aided with shoe purchases and delivery across Morgan County.

This July, CASA-EP’s volunteer book club took a refreshing turn with The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins—a powerful reminder to stay grounded in our mission and not be swayed by outside pressures. Designed as a space for support and camaraderie, the book club meets quarterly to discuss thought-provoking reads, share experiences, and connect over a meal.

Open to all CASA volunteers, this is a great opportunity to engage with fellow advocates, reflect on relevant topics, and recharge—because taking care of our volunteers is just as important as caring for our kids. Reach out to Kim Naiman if you are interested in attending.
