Facebook, Instagram, and other forms of social media have been in the forefront of the news lately, highlighting the negative effects of social media on youth. Sleep deprivation, anxiety, depression, bullying (or cyberbullying), feelings of inadequacy about your life or appearance, and isolation are commonly documented effects related to time spent on social media.

Comparing your life to others - especially those who are portrayed as “perfection” - is mentally and emotionally unhealthy. Sadly, social media is addictive so the habit is hard to break.
