Please join us as we come together with the Centennial Community to celebrate the life of our beloved colleague Zabedia Nazim who passed away on Sunday September 15th.
Zabedia worked at the College for more than 16 years, first teaching in The Business School and the School of English and Liberal Studies (then the School of Advancement), before moving to CFDTI. An exemplary educator, scholar, and colleague, Zabedia will be remembered for her leadership, research, and activism across many areas.

Orientation to Centennial Luminate

For those who missed the orientation sessions back in August, this interactive 3-hour training session provides a hands-on introduction to Centennial College’s new learning management system, powered by Anthology’s Blackboard. Participants will engage in guided practice and small group breakout activities, gaining the essential skills needed to confidently start teaching in Learn Ultra. We encourage participants to explore the platform in advance and come prepared with any specific questions or challenges they'd like to address.

Together with OER Librarian, Michelle Johnson, you’ll use the hour to setup your Pressbook’s account, get acquainted with its features, create a personal “sandbox,” and make a copy of the Centennial College Open Textbook Template. Call for Applications: Faculty Mobility Partnership Building Scholarship Program (2025- 26 Academic Year)
Global Affairs Canada has launched the 2025-2026 Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program (FMPBP) competition. This scholarship program is offered by Global Affairs Canada and administered by CBIE This program, which is accepting applications until November 19, 2024 at 11:59pm EST, provides full-time faculty at Canadian post-secondary institutions with opportunities to create or expand partnerships with Latin American and Caribbean institutions through short-term teaching and/or research activities. The funding provided is up to $7,000 CAD for
3-8 week mobility.
Important Deadlines:
Deadline to let us know you are interested is October 19, 2024 by emailing emays@centennialcollege.ca – which includes:
- your institution, region and program identified
- a draft of the activities on the ground you’d like to engage in
- an idea of how this partnership can benefit your program and courses
- your Associate Dean copied in the email (as an indication you’ve been approved to make this application)
