This is an IMPORTANT ALERT for your business...

SVC,The City of Santa Clara is considering an extreme raise of the Business License Tax TODAY.

Even if you do not do business in the City of Santa Clara… if it happens there, it is likely to happen in every City in the Valley. So, you WILL be next.

The Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce (SVC Chamber) opposes any dramatic increase in the Business License Tax. We oppose any harmful tax on small and medium-sized businesses.

One of the current proposals seeks to raise “revenue” to the city (meaning, taxes they take from you) by over 700%. However, the proposal is super-hyper progressive, meaning the top 10 businesses in the city will likely have their taxes increased by 400,000% (this is not a typo, you read that correctly).

The SVC Chamber is willing to continue to work with the City before something is put on the November 2022 ballot.

But if we believe a ballot proposition is harmful to local businesses, and ultimately the City of Santa Clara, we must oppose it and encourage others to do so as well.

You can help us!

You can attend the City Council meeting and even be prepared to speak during public comment. Today's meeting will be hybrid, so you may attend in-person at City Hall, or virtually.

We hope to see you at the meeting as we fight to keep Santa Clara business friendly.

Need More Exposure This Summer?

What is CVB & How it Can Help!

Does your business benefit from tourists, travelers, and transplants to Silicon Valley? If so, the SVC Chamber’s Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is the place for you.

The CVB Business Council focuses on growing business in the Silicon Valley region with discussions on how CVB Members can take advantage of that business growth. We work with convention centers, travel agencies, conference venues, and tourism destinations all over the region to grow the tourism, traveler, and transplant industry together; so, we all succeed by increasing our bottom lines together.

This is the only Council within the SVC Chamber that has annual dues. Though non-SVC Chamber members can join this Council without joining the SVC Chamber, annual Council dues are significantly less for SVC Chamber Members.

We Have Opportunities for your Business!

Has your company ever wanted to show their support for the SVC Chamber’s mission, but you weren’t sure how?

NOW is the time to help out.

The SVC Chamber is in need of prize donations for the raffle prize bucket, specifically: gift certificates, gift cards, or tangible goods.

Since your organization has long supported the Silicon Valley area, you’d be the perfect sponsor for the SVC Chamber.

Even better, by contributing to the raffle prize bucket, you’ll help us be able to provide services to struggling businesses that would otherwise not get involved.

Are you ready to become an official SVC Chamber prize sponsor or learn about sponsorship opportunities?
