Impact of new revenue on county roads and bridges
Curious to know what the impact will be on Clermont County roads and bridges from the recently enacted 10.5 cents a gallon increase in the gasoline tax in Ohio, and the $5 increase in annual vehicle registration fees approved in 2018?
County Engineer Pat Manger talked with Commissioners at their May 1 session about the road and bridge needs in Clermont County, and the impact of these extra revenues. More miles of county roads will be resurfaced beginning this year.

CEO of Child Focus, Jim Carter, honored
|
|
A tribute from Karen Scherra, Executive Director of Clermont County Mental Health & Recovery Board to Jim Carter, the President/CEO of Child Focus Inc.:
Jim Carter is retiring in June after 40 years at the helm of
Child Focus. Child Focus has been the contract agency of the Clermont County Mental Health & Recovery Board for mental health services for children and families throughout Jim’s time at the agency. Child Focus’ expansion over those years has been incredible and it’s due to the vision and passion that Jim has had for serving the needs of children and families in Clermont County and surrounding counties.
Our board wanted to recognize Jim for his many contributions to our system of care and recently presented him with the Wasserman Champion Award. This award is named for former Board Director Jim Wasserman who passed away in 1997, but whose goals for the Clermont behavioral health system live on in the people and agencies in Clermont who plan, fund and provide services every day.
Jim Carter certainly believed in and helped achieve those goals, and the Mental Health & Recovery Board members and staff wanted to thank Jim for his efforts. We will miss him and his leadership.
