Subject: My Personal Lyme Journey
Hello Friends:
Happy Spring to all of you up here in Maine and around the world.
I had an interesting adventure to share the past few weeks. About 2 weeks ago I thought I had what was an itchy skin tag on my side that I ignored for about 4-5 days when I finally had Mylisa take a look and discovered that it was an imbedded deer tick which she proceeded to remove.
Did not worry too much about it since there was no red rash around it and I felt ok. Two days later I started to run a fever and ended up taking the day off from practice which was pretty unusual for me.
Gradually the fever elevated to about 104 and I started developing muscle weakness, loss of coordination and difficulty putting words together. Suffice to say I was getting concerned and started on my Desbio remedies for Borrelia/Babesia and arranged to get going on doxycycline. The interesting part symptom wise was the extreme brain fog which made it difficult to put 2 words together as well as loss of balance and coordination making it almost impossible to stand up and walk. Litterally within hours of taking the homeopathic and antibiotic remedies the fever broke and I started to reverse my symptoms. After a couple of days I recovered back to normal and I must say currently I am better than ever.
Couple of points to know re:lyme.
1)The sooner the better re:starting treatment. You have about a 1-2 weeks window to treat aggressively before the disease starts to progress and become more chronic
2)During the onset the blood test for Lyme may or may not show the presence of the infection since the immune response may not be active yet and the blood tests generally do not show the organisms directly.
3)A bulls eye or rash also may or may not be present so it is best not to rely on that as an indicator.
Below is a video that I recorded summarizing my own personal experience with this acute Lyme episode. It certainly gives me a different perspective on the illness from a personal point of view which is always a more direct experience.
Also below are links to the audible version of my new Book, Are you stuck in fight or flight. Please check it out if you like to listen to books. Great narration!!
