November 2025 | Issue 4

From the Co-Presidents

Dear friends,

Fall is in full swing, and we trust you are enjoying this wonderful time of year; with the weather changing and the holidays approaching. We hope you all are experiencing “Serenity” as the activities of the holiday season arrive.

Our membership enjoyed a “No Vacancy Staging” program at the home of Celeste Coggin. Many thanks to Krisztina Bell for her thoughtful inspiration and staging.

Our evening programs folks put on a great night at the home of Turin Mamoun. A presentation from Southern Wild Films provided a glimpse into the compelling world of documentary filmmaking.

We would like to extend special thanks to Celeste Coggin and Turin Mamoun for opening their homes to our members. We are so proud of the programming that our Daytime and Evening Programs people tirelessly provide to our club members each month.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Lynn Thompson and the many volunteers who made the Halloween Party possible this year. A special thank you to Family Activities leader, Lesli Asiello, and her team for working so hard to make this event such fun for the kids.

We would like to wish all our members an incredibly Happy Thanksgiving.

Your CPWC Co-Presidents,

Sterling Lanken & Angela Boardman

Annual Halloween Event at McFarlane

On Oct. 31st the CPWC sponsored the community Halloween Event at McFarlane Nature Park. Fun was had by all. There was pizza, games, and a costume parade & contest. To all the “witches” of our Community who always show-up for the kiddos, Thank You!

We would like to thank the many volunteers who made this possible this year. A special thank you to Family Activities leader, Lesli Asiello and her team of Judy Winchell, Ellie Lacey, Brenda Shirley, Rita Furness, Debbie Vaky, Jean Dole, Sterling Lankin, Dianne Kaseta, Martha Alteri, Heather Rees, Sharon Cooper, Kim Sherk and Lynn Thompson. We also would like to thank our sponsor, East Cobb LifeStyle Magazine for their coverage and continued support. To the teens of the community that helped with the games. THANK YOU!!! To the team of Mike Arundel and Cobb County Police officers, for keeping everyone safe. MANY THANKS to the beautiful McFarlane Nature Park, for being able to have event space right in our community. We are an amazing caring neighborhood community, helping support one another in many ways. THANK YOU TO ALL!

Yule Log Event at McFarlane

The CPCA and women’s club will sponsor a Yule Log Event on December 14 from 3:30-5:00 at McFarlane Park. There will be a bonfire, cookies, hot cocoa, carol singing, S’Mores, games, prizes and photos with SANTA!!!. Put it on your calendar now. Why fight the crowds at the mall for a photo with Santa? Come out and visit with your neighbors. All ages welcome. Even retired folks and empty-nesters can enjoy the connections and festivities. In case of bad weather, the event will be at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection on Paper Mill Road.

We would love to have your help. If you’re willing to help with cookies, S’More kits, decorations, and games, please contact Janie.Kissling at Janie.kissling@gmail.com.

We will send out a sign-up genius in November.
