Meet our New Assistant GM

Dear Residents,

 

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Ms. Kaye Follie, who will be stepping into the role of Assistant General Manager. Kaye arrived this week and has wasted no time in getting to know the team, becoming familiar with the community, and tackling some of our biggest concerns.  

 

Kaye has a long and distinguished career in all levels of property management in and around the Houston area and brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise. With a strong background in administration and exceptional communication skills, Kaye brings a fresh perspective and a host of innovative ideas that we are truly excited about.

 

Kaye's dedication to excellence and commitment to fostering a vibrant community environment aligns perfectly with our values here at Stone Gate. Yard-of-the-Month Contest

Congratulations to our April Winner – The Boyette Family

 

This homeowner will receive a $50 gift card and an official SGOA Yard of the Month sign. Winners are selected from a random drawing from all the submissions received. Keep those submissions coming!  


Do you have a neighbor with an outstanding yard? If so, please nominate them for the Yard-of-the-Month award! All nominations will be entered into a random drawing at the end of each month. 


To nominate a neighbor (or even yourself!) for yard-of-the-month, please email your recommendation to stonegaterec@associa.us and include the following information:

Lost Mill Hahns Peak Playground Announcement

We’re getting closer to the completion of our newest playground!


Adjustments to irrigation systems are being made to accommodate the new structure, but everything is on schedule so far. The playground will continue to be closed to residents until construction is complete.

Maintenance Updates

1) Ruby Canyon pedestrian gate lock was getting stuck. Removed the lock, replaced the inside pin, and assembled the lock back together. Confirmed it was now working properly.

2) Stoney Falls pedestrian gate latch was getting stuck. Made repairs to the pedestrian gate lock and confirmed it was working properly.

3) Mallory bridge pedestrian gate handle was not working. Removed lock reset handle pedestrian gate and was working properly.

4) Crimson Canyon pedestrian gate lock was repaired and is working properly.

5) Bluff Springs pedestrian gate handle was bent in wrong position. Removed the lock and reset the handle in original position. Pedestrian gate was working properly.

6) Lost Mill pedestrian gate was stuck open and the lock handle was in the wrong position. After adjusting the handle back to the original position, the pedestrian gate was working properly.

7) Repaired three different speed bumps in the Canyon Green Community. Speed bumps original anchors were broken and the bumps were coming apart.

8) Changing filters out to all three buildings. AC air filters from the rec center, two in the kitchen area, two in the gym area, two in the hallway area. We changed out with new air filters.

9) Security guard house two filters in the back room were replaced with new A/C air filters.

10) Splash pad downstairs A/C air filter was replaced with a new one and one upstairs in the bedroom area an A/C air filter was replaced with a new one.

11) Splash pad women’s restroom circulating fan was making a loud noise. Removed old ceiling circulating fan, replaced with a new one, and confirmed it was working properly.

12) Switch Back metal fence painted at 75'. Sanded crossbars and pickets down to bear metal. Started priming it to get ready for paint. Completed 75' of fence after sanding, priming, and painting it black. There’s over 2000 feet of this fence. This will be completed in small portions at a time.

Heron Egret Birds: Tips for Preventative Maintenance

Hundreds of Egrets begin migrating around this time of year in search of a favorable nesting area to form their rookery. History shows that these birds appear to choose the same location each year. When establishing a nest, Egrets are drawn to large, well-established trees, with dense networks of limbs conducive for protection when nesting.


First and foremost, to respect and be aware of: Egrets are federally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. What does this mean? By law, none of these birds can be killed, or their nests disturbed once they have eggs or young. It is unlawful to do anything to these birds once an egg is in the nest.


Residents can purchase items to help discourage nesting, such as air horns, bright streamers to hang in trees, water nozzles and "scare eye balloons," which are common tools used to scare away birds.
