Message from the Board

Dear Residents,

Pool season is here! Please remember that residents will need an access card/key fob to enjoy most community amenities this summer. Pools are open each weekend in May and then daily starting in June. If you need assistance in obtaining an access card or key fob, please visit our onsite management office at 11655 Canyon Green Drive during normal business hours.

The office is open Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.

During your visit, please also remember to ask for a Stone Gate decal for your vehicle. Only residents who live in that section have EZ tag access. Any resident not having EZ tag access or SG decal will need to check in with security at the guardhouse each time.

We wish all moms a wonderful and relaxing Mother’s Day weekend and hope everyone has a happy and safe summer!

Maintenance Updates

1.     Painted basketball goal at the rec center paint was chipping off. Sanded, primed, and painted it.

2.     Black table near the basketball court bolts were loose at the bottom. Was able to adjust the table to move up-and-down freely.

3.     Went around the rec center picking up trash and debris from the rain.

4.     At the rec center, (2) wind screens came loose and were on the floor.

5.     Took apart toilet in women’s restroom at splash pad because the water kept running. Adjusted the toilet and it was working properly.

6.     Put restroom supplies at Rec Center, Guard Tower, and Splash Pad area.

7.     Replaced lights around the Stone Gate Clubhouse with new LED lights. (Volleyball Court – 1, Playground – 1, Parking Lot – 5, Pool – 4)

8.     Ruby Canyon pedestrian gate handled pushed all the way down how to take apart and move. The pin was bent because of the handle.

9.     Stoney Falls pedestrian gate lock was not flush with the door. Tightened and adjusted it from the bolt.

10. Mariners Bay pedestrian gate lever was bent all the way. Had to take the lock mechanism apart, cut the pin, and straightened it out.

11. At Crimson Canyon someone stuck branches and stuff inside where the doors shut and had to remove to fix the lock.

12. Finished painting gate on the inside. 237 feet was completed.

13. Entry Water Features: The crew cleaned all debris baskets and added chlorine shock to each feature.

14. Island Shores (Lake 1): We collected trash from the lake and shoreline. The lights and timers are functional and accurate. The fountain is running and flowing properly. We recorded the well and irrigation meter readings.

15. Island Shores (Lake 2): Trash and debris was collected from the lake and shoreline. The lights and timers are functional and accurate. The fountain is running properly. The outfall is clear of blockages.

16. Bluff Springs (Lake 3): Upon arrival the lights were not functioning. After conducting diagnostic tests, we determined there is an issue within the light fixtures. The crew removed the light set for offsite repair. The fountain and timers are functioning properly. We collected trash and recorded the well meter reading.

17. Bluff Springs (Lake 4): Trash and debris was collected. The lights and timers are functional and accurate. The fountain is running and flowing properly. The outfall is clear, and the water level is normal.

18. Harmony Springs (Section 8): We collected trash from the lake and shoreline. Fountain #2 still has no incoming power due to the disassembled CenterPoint meter. This will have to be fixed by your energy provider. Once the power has been restored, we can turn the fountain back on. The other fountain, lights, and timers are functional and accurate. The crew recorded the well meter reading. The outfall is clear of debris.

19. Danbury Bridge (section 6): The crew collected trash from the lake and shoreline. All three fountains are running and flowing properly. The lights and timers are all functional and accurate. We cleared the outfall of debris. The water level is normal.

20. Additionally, we drove through Canyon Lakes to make sure all other fountains are running, the outfalls are clear, and the water levels are normal. No other issues were detected while on site.

Heron Egret Birds: Tips for Preventative Maintenance

Hundreds of Egrets begin migrating around this time of year in search of a favorable nesting area to form their rookery. History shows that these birds appear to choose the same location each year. When establishing a nest, Egrets are drawn to large, well-established trees, with dense networks of limbs conducive for protection when nesting.

First and foremost, to respect and be aware of: Egrets are federally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. What does this mean? By law, none of these birds can be killed, or their nests disturbed once they have eggs or young. It is unlawful to do anything to these birds once an egg is in the nest.

Residents can purchase items to help discourage nesting, such as air horns, bright streamers to hang in trees, water nozzles and "scare eye balloons," which are common tools used to scare away birds.
