From the Co-Presidents

Cropped Logo

We kicked off 2025 in style with fabulous events. Everyone enjoyed the first 1st Friday of the year at the lovely home of John and Kim Yankauskas. The following week, the talented Maryam Askaran hosted a morning painting class to the delight of all who attended.

Thank you to Susan O'Farrell for hosting the fascinating daytime program on January 17th to discuss pelvic health with Dr. Jackie Crowell from Progressive Pelvis

We continue to appreciate all of our members who brave the wind and cold to support our activities and programs each month, and we especially thank all the leaders who donate their time to organize and lead them.

Speaking of leadership, our CPWC 2025 Nominating Committee is Susan Fulkerson, Jean Dole, Debbie Judd, Janie Kissling, and Ellie Lacey. Thank you all for stepping up to handle the important task of identifying next year's executive board. If you are interested in serving on the CPWC board for 2025-2026 or would like to suggest another eligible member to the committee for consideration, please contact Susan at 404-406-9013 or sfulkerson6@gmail.com.

Your CPWC Co-Presidents,

Martha Altieri & Sterling Lanken

From the Nominating Committee

Leadership is an important part of nurturing the future of the CPWC. While the participation of the members & the connections we make with each other are the most important thing, none of that happens without the time and energy of the group of women who serve on the board.

Anyone interested in serving in a CPWC Board or interest group position, please contact Susan Fulkerson to have your name added to the nomination slate.  You can see the list of the board positions and interest group committee chairs at the front of the CPWC 2024-2025 directory or on our website. Susan can be reached at sfulkerson6@gmail.com.

CPWC Daytime Meeting

Learning With Friends-a trip to the Georgia State Capitol

Friday, February 21

Our February daytime meeting date has changed from February 14 to February 21. We were slated to go to the Georgia State Capitol on the 14th, but the legislature is not in session that day, however, they will be in session on February 21. We will go visit with our neighbor and State Representative, Sharon Cooper, and her aide Kim Sherk, both members of our women’s club. They will direct us to the balcony where we can observe laws being made right before our eyes. Because it’s a Cobb County Winter Break holiday, we apologize. But you are allowed to bring your kids if they are in elementary, middle school, or higher.

We will gather at the Atlanta Country Club to carpool at 9:45 AM. We should arrive shortly before 11 and will take a group picture on the Capitol steps. Afterward, we will have lunch together at Six Feet Under before coming back home.

Please RSVP so we can make arrangements for lunch and tell Sharon Cooper how many people to expect. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes in case there's a long walk from the parking garage. Also, bring money for parking, any raffle items you would like to buy a chance to win, and for lunch. This should be a lot of fun and very informative. It’s great to be able to observe our lawmakers behind the scenes.
