Your monthly news & updates
A message from our  Executive Director
Happy New Year!  I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year.  Christmas was wonderful and the outpouring of support from the community for our families was unbelievable. You may have followed the happenings on social media. If you did not, I encourage you to hop on our pages and take a look.
We have many great things happening at Serene Harbor such as the new Injunction for      Protection (IFP) Project*.   Under this project,  Florida Bar Licensed Attorney,. Wendy L. Fisher, Esq. will provide IFP Project Injunction Representation to victims of domestic violence throughout Brevard County. We are beyond thrilled to have this very necessary program available to the survivors in our community.   In addition, we will be naming our pet kennel so keep an eye out for information to follow.
Thank you for your continued support.  I look forward to a great 2017 and working with you to reduce the incidences of domestic violence in Brevard County.

Warmest Regards,
Melody R. Keeth

Program Information
  Introducing.... Happy Hands Happy Hearts

Happy Hands Happy Hearts is a part of our children's Program, created by Cristina Lanken, M.Ed, Program Director, Serene Harbor.
The idea is to give the children an opportunity to have a way to express themselves through art.  These sessions are individual so the child gets all the attention from the program director for at least one hour per week. The focus is to let them feel safe to talk and create something of their own that they can take with them.  Topics such as: Self esteem building, safety, life skills and anti-violence are introduced during the activity.
Cristina says " I started this because children often get very little attention- they are the silent victims and they need to have a voice. When they make something they are proud of- during the time they are in the art room- their hands are happy and their hearts are happy. "
