From the Co-Presidents

Cropped Logo

Dear CPWC Members,

The holiday season is soon approaching, and it is the perfect time of year to give thanks. The CPWC strives to connect neighbors and introduce new friends so we can support each other. We are very grateful for those CPWC friends. We are also thankful for our board and all the interest group leaders who give so much time and energy to our club.

We hope you have enjoyed many of the special programs and interest group activities we have offered this Fall. Thank you to Julie Lischer for hosting the evening program in her lovely garden, where attendees shared their favorite veggie dishes and recipes. Also, thanks to Debbie Vaky, who opened her beautiful home to the daytime program featuring our own Lisa Petrocelli Krueger of Expedia Cruises. Lisa gave us fabulous travel ideas for this year and beyond.

Many thanks to Lynn Thompson and the many CPWC members who made the Halloween Spooktacular Party in McFarlane Park a great success. Our volunteers donated gift cards, made brownies and cookies, and gave of their time to our community.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Your CPWC Co-Presidents,

Martha Altieri & Sterling Lanken

Charity Corner

Many thanks to our generous membership for donating much-needed items at our October daytime and evening programs for the Down 7 Up 8 charity events “Princess for a Day” and “Boys to Men”. If you would still like to donate, you can visit the charity’s Amazon Wish List (https://a.co/3TKWGMA) and donate items directly to the charity for this event.

Additionally, volunteers are very much needed to help with the event. You can sign up to volunteer through the Down 7 Up 8 website (https://www.down7up8inc.org/support-us). You will find a detailed list of days, times, and activities for you to select from. Hands-on volunteering is the backbone of all charities! Many thanks to those who have already signed up to volunteer.

SAVE THE DATE(S)-Please mark your calendars for these upcoming CPWC charitable events. More specific details will be forthcoming:

There will also be an event-specific online code that can be used when shopping Kendra Scott online for two days surrounding the event date.

January 23, 2025- Mojo Vitality Charity Event – New Year, New You - Be on the lookout for information on this fun charity event. https://www.mojoatl.com

February 7, 2025- CPWC “Share the Love” Charity Party – In place of our regular February First Friday event, we will hold our annual charity fundraising event at the home of one of our members. We are calling this "Share the Love" with a Valentines theme. This will be a casual event very much in line with our First Friday evenings and will include some fun raffle items, great food and drink, and the wonderful company of our membership and their guests.

Thanks,

Family Activities

The 2024 CPWC Halloween Event was a great success! 33 new families signed in and around 100 kids participated in the games and a Costume parade/contest. Domino’s pizza, cookies, and brownies were had by all. Donations were made to McFarlane Nature Park. The children and adults were all in the spirit and so appreciative of our Women’s Club.

Our costume winners were given prizes from JMZ Frozen Yogurt, candy, and other goodies. JMZ provided the event with FREE frozen yogurt with a choice of 2 toppings for all the kids. I hope everyone will continue to support them. (They are located next door to Casa Bella on Upper Roswell Rd).

A VERY special thanks to ALL who volunteered their help & donated items this year.

Martha Altieri, Grace Becerra, Lisa Enochs, Julie Lischer, Heather Rees, Brenda Shirley, Ellie Lacey, Kristin Ward, Kim Sherk, Sharon Cooper, Janie Kissling, Caleb Kissling, Melissa Malmberg and her kids, Karin Guzy, Jean Dole, Angela Boardman, Cindy Formica, LuAnn Warrick, Kathleen Guntor, Sara Jane Fletcher, Chris Cashman, Diane & Kevin Kaseta, Kristen Bernheim, Cynthia Villaverde, Anna Bella, Jay Czarnecki, Johanna Jenkins, Libby Nabors, Debbie Vaky, Rita Furness, Janet Francesconi, Leslie Asiello, Valerie Stewart and Jerry Thompson.

It takes a team to make this happen each year. We are an amazing organization of women who are dedicated to Community. I hope all will continue to volunteer their time and efforts to this amazing club. It makes a difference when neighbors care and participate with their families.

Warm Regards,

Lynn Thompson
