Dear friends,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our opening luncheon last month.
We had an amazing fashion show sponsored by Pineapple Porch and a seminar on diamonds from Mae Seif of Masina Diamonds.
JoAnn Birrell, District 3 Commissioner of Cobb County, gave us a community update.
We enjoyed a charming presentation from founder Holly Ranney and development manager Linzi Berkowitz from our chosen charity, Sunshine on a Ranney Day (SOARD).
The door prizes at the end of the luncheon included a diamond from Masina Diamonds worth more than $2,000!
Thank you to our interest group models Jo Coke, Jean Dole, Susan Fulkerson, Rita Furness, Missy Malmberg, Turin Mamoun, Patty Pace, Lana Phillips, Cathy Shoronski, Lynn Thompson, Kristine Ward and Debbie Wagner.
We appreciate Maryam Askaran and Mae Seif for creating the lovely flower arrangements.
The week before the luncheon we had one of the most successful newcomers welcome parties in memory. Missy Malmberg opened her home to our new neighbors along with our faithful First Friday revelers. The result was a lively event that was standing room only with a great table of goodies to enjoy. We continue to welcome new neighbors into our group and if you know of anyone please put them in touch with Dawn Wadsworth wayneanddawn@aol.com or Cynthia Dolezal
cynthiadolezal@gmail.com.
Our first evening program on September 16th was Serenity Now: Simple Practices to Reset Your Nervous System and Find Peace Anytime. Kathy Shaul, a Holistic Well-Being Specialist and long time yoga instructor taught us ways to reset with movement, breath and touch. Thank you to Missy Malmberg for hosting.
We hope to see you on Friday, October 17 at the first daytime program of the season with a presentation to help us choose the best paint colors for our rooms. We will hear from Krisztina Bell from No Vacancy Home Staging.
Now that we have officially kicked off our activities please consider renewing your membership this year. We need your membership and support for the success of our organization, and we very much appreciate it. If you haven’t yet joined, click here:

We are excited to partner with Sunshine on a Ranney Day (SOARD) to sponsor a bathroom makeover for a child with special needs in Cobb County in 2026. Together, we’ll get to follow the renovation journey step by step, experiencing firsthand the impact of our fundraising efforts. Please don't forget to bring money to our daytime meeting for drawings to benefit SOARD!
SOARD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, dream bedrooms, and in-home therapy rooms to children with special needs aged 4 to 21 in the Atlanta area. By offering these rooms at no cost, SOARD brings safety, independence, and joy to children with special needs where it matters most. Read more at Home - Sunshine on a Ranney Day
In addition to their renovation projects, SOARD operates Sunny & Ranney, a beautiful retail store in Roswell where 100% of the profits go directly toward covering the charity’s operational costs. The store offers brand-new furniture, stylish home décor, and unique gifts—many from top-name brands—at incredible prices.
