Develop Skillsets with Instructional Campus on Aging Nutrition (ican!)

Our Instructional Campus on Aging (ican!) modules are now live, and each module contains supplemental materials such as:



  • Plating tips for both congregate and home-delivered meals
  • Resources for partnering with grocery stores, restaurants, and health care systems
  • Web design for older adult audiences
  • Asset mapping tools
  • Sample job descriptions
  • And more!


After viewing a module and completing the evaluation, you will have access to the related supplemental materials.


The free, interactive modules are accessible for everyone and have great information for new Area Agency on Aging and local service provider staff and volunteers.

CONNECT Study: Testing New Methods of Providing Malnutrition Care for Older Adults

We are excited to announce that the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Research Department, RISA, has received funding from the Administration of Community Living to test a new referral model to connect inpatient dietetics care to outpatient dietetics care in older adults who have been diagnosed with malnutrition. Join Defeat Malnutrition Today and the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) on November 9 from 1 to 2pm ET for a webinar on the healing potential of food as medicine and its impact on the health of indigenous elders. This session, moderated by Heidi Robertson, Title VI Nutrition Consultant, will feature insightful speakers Nannette Taho, Senior Services Manager at Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, and Dr. Collette Adamsen, Director of the National Resource Center on Native American Aging.
