Most recently this week, the modem for the gate at Ruby Canyon went down and is in the process of being repaired. Section 7&8 exit gate was hit and damaged by a vehicle. Maintenance Updates

Entry Water Features: We cleaned all the debris baskets and added chlorine shock to each feature. There is no incoming power to the South feature. Please contact CenterPointe to have this issue resolved.

Villages III: We collected trash from the lake and shoreline. The lights and timers are functional and accurate. The fountain is running and flowing properly. We treated for submerged algae along the bulkhead.

Switchback: The crew collected trash and debris. The lights and timers are all functional and accurate. Upon arrival, fountain #3 was not running. It performed well on our field diagnostic tests, so we reset it and will check back during our Stone Gate maintenance visit to ensure it is still running. The other three fountains were running and flowing properly. We treated for algae. The outfall was cleared of debris, and the water level is normal.

Willow Ranch: Trash and debris were collected. The lights and timers are functional and accurate. Both fountains are running and flowing properly. The crew treated for submerged algae. The outfall was cleared of blockages.

Nautical Point (Lake 4): Trash was collected. The lights and timers are functional and accurate. The fountain is running properly. The crew treated for algae along the bulkhead.

Nautical Point (Lake 5): We collected trash and debris. The lights and timers are functioning properly. The fountain is running properly. The outfall is clear of blockages.

Mariner's Bay: The crew collected trash and debris. The lights and timers are functional and accurate. Both fountains are running and flowing properly. We treated for submerged algae.

Additionally, we drove through the Stone Gate route to make sure all the fountains were running. Fountain #2 in Harmony Springs still has no incoming power. All other fountains were running properly. We noticed the water level in Bluff Springs was low, so we turned on the well to allow it to return to normal.

Trash was cleaned up around the Rec Center.

The walkway at the Splash Pad.

Fixed stones around flowerbed at the Rec Center.

Fixed door handle at Newlight Bend. Had to take it apart and reassemble. The handle was operating properly.

Heron Egret Birds: Tips for Preventative Maintenance

Hundreds of Egrets begin migrating around this time of year in search of a favorable nesting area to form their rookery. History shows that these birds appear to choose the same location each year. When establishing a nest, Egrets are drawn to large, well-established trees, with dense networks of limbs conducive for protection when nesting.

First and foremost, to respect and be aware of: Egrets are federally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. What does this mean? By law, none of these birds can be killed, or their nests disturbed once they have eggs or young. It is unlawful to do anything to these birds once an egg is in the nest.

Residents can purchase items to help discourage nesting, such as air horns, bright streamers to hang in trees, water nozzles and "scare eye balloons," which are common tools used to scare away birds.
