Community Staff Changes

Dear Residents,

We hope this message finds you well and enjoying the beginning of spring. As your HOA Board, we wanted to take a moment to update you on some recent developments regarding our management team.

After careful consideration and evaluation of our community's needs, we decided to part ways with our General Manager. We believe this decision will pave the way for new opportunities and fresh perspectives that will benefit our community as a whole.

We understand that change can sometimes be unsettling, but please rest assured that the HOA Board, in conjunction with our trusted management company, is diligently working to find a new General Manager who will bring enthusiasm, expertise, and a commitment to serving our community.

Furthermore, we regret to inform you that our Assistant General Manager has also tendered their resignation. While we will miss their contributions, we see this as an opportunity for new talent to join our team and contribute to the continued success of our community.

The management company is actively engaged in the process of finding a suitable replacement for both positions. We have full confidence in their ability to identify individuals who will align with our community's values, uphold our standards of excellence, and work tirelessly to meet the needs of our residents.

While transitions like these can present challenges, they also offer opportunities for growth and positive change. We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and remain committed to ensuring that our community continues to thrive.

Thank you for your continued support and patience during this time of transition. Together, we will navigate these changes and emerge even stronger as a community.

New Speed Hump Policy

Dear Residents,

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our community is always our top priority, so we are excited to introduce a new Speed Bump Policy, aimed at enhancing safety measures within our neighborhood.

Our Speed Bump Policy has been carefully crafted to strike a balance between promoting safety and considering the diverse perspectives within our community. We want to promote resident engagement and input, so we have also created a form that residents may use to submit requests for speed bump placements or removals.

Please visit www.stonegatetxhoa.com to access the Speed Bump Policy and the form for requests.  The policy and form can also be found on our community TownSquare app under “Documents”.

Your feedback is important to us, and we encourage residents to share any thoughts and suggestions to help us create a safer environment for the entire community.  If you have any questions or need assistance with the submission process, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you for your cooperation and active participation in making our community a safer place to live.

Lost Mill Hahns Peak Playground Announcement

The playground located in the gated section of Lost Mill on Hahns Peak will be closed to residents starting April 15, 2024, for approximately six weeks, weather permitting. During that time, the contractor will demolish the existing play structure and construct a new play area, including playground equipment, swings, and a canopy.

We will send another announcement when the park reopens.

Social Committee Interest

Hello neighbors!

Are you interested in getting more involved in the community? If so, we would be thrilled to talk to you about joining our Social and ACC Committee!

Committees assist the Board of Directors with various tasks, offer new ideas and suggestions, and gain greater insight into the “behind the scenes” work the Board does each day.

We are currently starting a Social Committee and we look forward to meeting residents interested in assisting with community social events like Bingo Nights, 4th of July celebrations, and many other amazing events scheduled for this year.

Social Committee members can help:

- Provide recommendations for events, activities, and budgets to the Board of Directors.

- Assist and support community events and activities to promote a positive environment.

- Organize and set up event spaces before start time.

- Partner with local businesses to provide goods and services at events

- Assist with Yard of the Month and Holiday Decoration Contests.

- Create flyers and marketing for community newsletters, website, and TownSquare portal.

Architectural Control Committee (ACC)

- Review and approve or disapprove plans and specifications for each Architectural Control Committee Modification Request application.

- Make reasonable efforts to assist the applicants with their application.

- ACC members will be trained and expected to conduct business using TownSq. This system allows members to view, comment, approve or deny applications digitally.

Ideal candidates will:

- Have access to a computer and internet.

- Commit to reviewing applications weekly. We average around 10-15 applications per week. Each application may take 5 minutes or longer to review.

- Have knowledge of the HOA’s covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs) also known as deed restrictions.

Interested? Please complete the attached form and email it to us at: stonegaterec@associa.us. Thank you in advance for your commitment to our community!

Many thanks,

Patricia Davis, HOA President

Heron Egret Birds: Tips for Preventative Maintenance

Hundreds of Egrets begin migrating around this time of year in search of a favorable nesting area to form their rookery. History shows that these birds appear to choose the same location each year. When establishing a nest, Egrets are drawn to large, well-established trees, with dense networks of limbs conducive for protection when nesting.

First and foremost, to respect and be aware of: Egrets are federally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. What does this mean? By law, none of these birds can be killed, or their nests disturbed once they have eggs or young. It is unlawful to do anything to these birds once an egg is in the nest.

Residents can purchase items to help discourage nesting, such as air horns, bright streamers to hang in trees, water nozzles and "scare eye balloons," which are common tools used to scare away birds.
