Our mission: to be a sign of Christ’s love for the world.
We rejoice that we are now open to up to 250 people in the sanctuary for Sunday morning worship at 10 am! We will continue to live stream the service so that you may worship in the way you feel safest. In order to be safe and "do no harm" as the family of God, please arrive early and be prepared to abide by the following protocols:

  • Wear a mask at all times 😷
  • Maintain 6-foot social distance ⬅️ 6ft ➡️
  • Enter sanctuary from the main front entrance (unless you require the elevator) 🚪
  • Sign in with the usher as guided 📝
  • Usher will seat all worshippers in "reserved for you" spots.

Please be mindful of safe social distancing in our sanctuary. The signs taped to the pews alert us to safe seating. If the sign is on the end of the pew, we ask that you and your family sit beginning at the end of that pew. If the sign is on the middle of the pew, we ask that you and your family sit in the middle of the pew. If there is NO sign on the pew, we ask that you leave that pew vacant. As always, please fellowship freely with one another once you depart the building in our lovely front yard, courtyard, or parking lot. Thank you for minding the safety of all folks.

Thank You
Dilworth Family,

Thank you for all of the prayers and kind notes as we grieve the loss of Jon's father. It has been so uplifting to read the notes of encouragement and know that our church community is keeping us in prayer.

Staffing Announcements
Yes, there are great changes happening at Dilworth but your pastors remain in place. Bishop Leeland and the WNCC UMC cabinet have appointed Pastors Michelle Chappell and Cade Barefoot back to Dilworth for another year.

Also announced last Sunday in worship is that we will host a summer intern from the great school of ASU. Savannah is a rising Sophomore who is in the journey of discernment of a call to ministry. She is from Albemarle, NC. We will welcome Savanah Smith on May 18th. If you would like to host a meal for Savannah, please reach out to one of the pastors and let them know.

And we had bittersweet joy on Sunday as we announced that Jared Stewart-Ginsburg will be stepping down as part-time Loft band director as he becomes an Assistant Professor of Special Education at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. Before his leadership with the Loft Band, Jared was our Children and Family Ministries Director for two years with a whole range of duties and hats. We are proud of you Jared and thank you for all the ministry you have shared at Dilworth. Amy and Jared plan on continuing their life at Dilworth Church, as Amy will continue her work here in Charlotte.

Altar Flowers
This Sunday's beautiful arrangements are in honor of Nancy Parlier from her three children. If you want to see these beautiful arrangements, make sure you watch the Worship service on Facebook Live. In addition to the calendar on Aisha’s office door, we’ve created a Sign-Up Genius to make it super easy to reserve a date to place flowers on the altar. Flowers on the altar make our worship more beautiful and alive. If you would like to use the church’s florist, The Blossom Shop, Aisha will be happy to call in the order for you. The standard seasonal arrangement they provide is $50 plus tax but will enhance it with specific flower and color requests for an additional cost. You can also bring in an arrangement from your garden, a market, or wherever you want to get them. We’ve got lots of available dates, so click here to sign-up for 2021, and let’s bring some of the beauty of God’s creation into our worship in the Sanctuary.
