Our mission: to be a sign of Christ’s love for the world.
How wonderful to worship together in our sanctuary! As we adjust to sharing space again, please be mindful to the needs of those around us.

Out of love & safety for our youngest & most vulnerable, ALL worshipers are to wear masks while in the sanctuary.

As Matthew 7:12 says, "Treat others as you would want to be treated." Thank you for living in Christian love with one another!

A Message From Your Pastors, Lay Leader And Ministries Council
Those attending last Friday's Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory play witnessed a wonderful mix of joy, creativity, unity, and diversity. It represented the kind of church that Dilworth aspires to be. No doubt, it's been a tumultuous year and a half for our church, nation, and world. But know that your Dilworth UMC leadership hears and walks with you. Even within our church family, the range of emotions has covered the spectrum, from the highs to the lows. Faithful prayer has been at the center of our journey in 2020/21. We are aware of your joys and your struggles. And like any large family, we are not all alike, nor are we to be. But one lesson we have learned in this Covid-19 pandemic is that we need each other. We need connection and community. When face-to-face connection was stripped away this past year, like any loving family, we suffered. So as the church and school year gears up and resets, may we come together as a family uniting in our overwhelmingly essential goodness, love, and faith around Christ. Dilworth is a strong church that is a beautiful reflection of God’s love in the community, and we wish to continue in that way. It is in this framework of historic Wesleyan practice that the Ministries Council and pastors adopted a Unity Covenant. Keep a watch in your email for the next few days for the new Covenant. We hope that our entire church family will celebrate its adoption at our worship and community lunch after the service on August 29th.
Unity Celebration Sunday! August 29th!
As we begin a new school year and come together as a worshipping community, let's celebrate our CONNECTION and COMMUNITY during AND after worship. A large tent, tables, and chairs will be set up OUTSIDE to the side of our sanctuary for lunch. Food Trucks (yes, Hog & Dogs is one of them!) will be out front, ready to serve a good meal. Our ministries council will provide DESSERT and DRINKS. There will be fellowship and fun for ALL ages. Put it on your calendars, and don't miss out!
Dilworth Drama Day Camp Presents: Willy Wonka Kids" Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Kids"
We want to thank Sallie Anna, Marie, Wes, Bill, Meredith, and all the adult and youth helpers for their help with creating a fantastic performance from the Dilworth Drama Day Camp!
Remember Your Church This Summer
As summer fun and vacation draws us away from town and church, don't forget that our church is still in ministry in the community. We are still open and need your support. Your financial gifts are essential to the ministry and campus of Dilworth Church. Visit our website to make your contributions online or you can drop off your contributions and use other means of giving. Also, worship with us live on Facebook at 10 am even when out of town. Enjoy and find relaxation this summer. Thank you for sustaining the ministries of Dilworth Church through your gifts.
Baptism
We celebrate in the baptism of Julian Joseph Areskog, who is the son of Cris and Andrea Areskog and little brother to Marley May.
Altar Flowers
This week's flowers are in celebration of Julian Joseph Areskog's baptismIf you want to see these beautiful arrangements, make sure you watch the Worship service on Facebook Live. In addition to the calendar on Aisha’s office door, we’ve created a Sign-Up Genius to make it super easy to reserve a date to place flowers on the altar. Flowers on the altar make our worship more beautiful and alive. If you would like to use the church’s florist, The Blossom Shop, Aisha will be happy to call in the order for you. The standard seasonal arrangement they provide is $50 plus tax but will enhance it with specific flower and color requests for an additional cost. You can also bring in an arrangement from your garden, a market, or wherever you want to get them. We’ve got lots of available dates, so click here to sign-up for 2021, and let’s bring some of the beauty of God’s creation into our worship in the Sanctuary.
Missing Urn
The brass flower urn for the sanctuary altar is missing. If anyone accidentally took it home with your flower arrangement, please return it to the church office. It would be greatly appreciated.

SPARK volunteers - every Sunday at 10:00 am. Have you heard about some of the fun things we've been doing in SPARK Sunday School this summer? Acting, science experiments, art, Bible stories, prayer, and more! Volunteer to be a part of it and help our children build strong foundations of faith. Here's what some of our recent volunteers have said:

"Really glad you asked me to help because I don’t think it’s something I would have actively volunteered for on my own and I ended up really liking it! I really enjoyed the opportunity to help kids learn beyond my own children and had a lot of fun in the process." - Ryan Mills

"I thought it was a very fun and easy way to serve. It was also so heartwarming to see the children’s enthusiasm to learn about God." - Mariel Findlay
