Driving Change in Our Community

Appreciating Our Volunteer Drivers

Cancer Assistance Halton Hills was proud to host another heartfelt Driver Appreciation Dinner, honoring the incredible volunteers who go the extra mile—literally and figuratively.

The evening was filled with warm company, delicious food, inspiring client stories, and some light-hearted trivia fun. Most importantly, it was a chance to express our deep gratitude to the dedicated volunteer drivers who generously give their time to support local residents on their cancer journey. This year, we've welcomed 8 new drivers and celebrated many others who have reached remarkable milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, and even 25 years of service!

From July 2024 to April 2025, our dedicated volunteer drivers spent an incredible 5,610 hours on the road, the equivalent of 234 days or 7.8 months behind the wheel. Together, they covered approximately 141,000 kilometers — that’s like making 16 round trips from Toronto to Vancouver! Their commitment ensures that clients get to vital treatment appointments safely and on time. We are so grateful for the time, care, and compassion they put into every ride.
