April is 'Give Where You Live' month for Cancer Assistance Halton Hills. We would like to thank Ollie Tuchel for sharing his story about his cancer journey and the positive impact that our services have had on him and his family. Look out for his letter in your mailbox this month.

Unfortunately, hundreds of people in Halton Hills are diagnosed with cancer each year. That means more people like Ollie will turn to us in the coming weeks and months. Together, we can help them get the support they need.

Communication During Cancer Treatment

cancer diagnosis and cancer treatment provide many opportunities for family members, friends and acquaintances to rally around you.

While this support is crucial for many patients and their families, communicating about treatment while also living through it can be a lot. It can even lead to burnout.

Testimonial from a Volunteer
I will begin by saying that I am truly honoured to be part of the volunteer team with Cancer Assistance. I have been volunteering with them for more than 6 years after becoming friends with Julie. Who along with Wendy and Laurie are the heart of the organization and the entire village of volunteers are truly one of a kind. Having worked with numerous other charities through the years, I have rarely felt as appreciated as I do with Cancer Assistance HH.
In an ideal world there would be no cancer and no need for this type of service, but knowing how much Cancer Assistance does in our community makes volunteering feel really good."
