Saturday Is Transgender Day of Remembrance
Each year on November 20 we take time to honor the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. This Saturday Phoenix Center will host the 7th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance memorial service. The event will take place at OUT on Adams (413 E. Adams Street in Springfield) at 5:00 PM. The event will be outside and will feature various speakers from the community including Pastor Susan and a reading of the names of those who were killed since November 20 of last year. The event will be followed by a short memorial walk to the Old State Capitol if the weather permits.

What is Transgender Day of Remembrance and Why Is It Important?
Transgender advocate and founder of the Day of Remembrance Gwendolyn Ann Smith says, “Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people – sometimes in the most brutal ways possible – it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.”

Springfield Interfaith Thanksgiving Service
We invite you to join us by living into this truth by attending the Annual Greater Springfield Interfaith Association's Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 21 @ 7 PM via ZOOM. This year's theme is CONNECTIONS that flow from gratitude. Be part of manifesting the heart of the Golden Rule.

A Gift of Beauty for Christmas
This year during Christmas time we will take an opportunity to honor, recognize, and remember our loved ones, both living and deceased, with beautiful Christmas poinsettias. As in years past, we will have the opportunity to purchase a poinsettia plant, display and enhance the beauty of the sanctuary, and recognize our loved ones with this lovely gift. We will be receiving orders for the poinsettias as well as recording the person(s) you wish to honor, dedicate, or remember from now until Monday, Dec. 6th. There will be order forms in the bulletins, or you can fill out the form below. Poinsettias will cost $10.00 each. You can place your order in the offering plate with your payment or send to the church office.
All orders must be received by December 6th.

The poinsettias will be displayed in the sanctuary from December 19th through our Christmas Eve service. You may take home your poinsettia(s) after the Christmas Eve service. If you do not wish to take your poinsettia(s) home, you can leave them and they will be donated.

Devotion from Sancti Spiritus
by Adriana Guererro
We were reflecting on the worship service in the text of the Gospel of Mark 13:24-32. The God of the parousia is the God who is present in the life of his people every day, sustaining him and filling him with strength. The God who comes is a God who is and who was and who will always be. Our God comes to his creation, not to destroy it, but to integrate it, transform it, renew it, and turn every suffering into joy. This makes our life a life full of hope. In this hope we live and hope in faith.

May our God bless you this week and always.
#GivingTuesday on Nov. 30 celebrates the collective power of Presbyterian generosity

No Tuesday night bible study on November 23rd.
