6:00 Wednesdays - Worship in the Garden
5:30 Social Time
6:00 Worship Service
It's delightful to worship in the garden!
We celebrate together in the garden, keep one another safe
and enjoy singing together with Emily Wheeler.
In case of rain we will move inside to the commons.

Blessing of the Animals
You are invited to bring your pet or stuffed animal to the Garden service on October 20, 2021 as we give thanks for the many ways that animals bless us. Please be sure to bring a harness, leash or carrier for your pet.
October is LGBTQIA+ history month.
Each week in October we will feature an article bringing forward some of this forgotten history.

“HOMOSEXUALITY” Is Not a Biblical Term
The first time the word “homosexual” appeared in any bible was in the Revised Standard Version (RSV) published February 11, 1946. The translation committee changed the interpretation of two Greek words found in 1 Corinthians 6:9 – “malakoi” and “arsenokoitai”. Previously these words were loosely translated to mean “effeminacy” and “pervert” or “sexual pervert”. The RSV committee translated these words as “homosexual”. Several other bible translations followed suit and, for the first time in history, homosexuality was named a sin in the bible.

Please Welcome Our New Members
We are excited to announce that there will be two new members joining the church on October 17th.

Please welcome Autumn Smith and Kathy Herrick.

Smiling Faces Needed for Sunday Mornings!
We are in need of more volunteers willing to usher at the 9:00 AM Sunday onsite service. Our ushers are responsible for greeting people at the door and checking them in, providing assistance to those who need it, and ensuring that everyone is exercising COVID safety. Anyone can volunteer to usher (it's not just for deacons). All you need to do is contact Chaplain Tim at and let him know you are available. Thanks!
Help Us Keep Our Micropantry Stocked
Stocking our micropantry is a way we love our neighbors.

Drop off food and hygiene items ANYTIME you want. You may place them directly in the micropantry cabinet or the basket in the narthex.

If you have any questions contact Chaplain Tim at

Thank you!

Share your work with us! We would love to see and display your creativity and talent. Send us your colored pictures (scan, email, regular mail) and we will share them on Sunday mornings and maybe also on our Facebook page.

If you have been to one of our sales, we encourage you to arrive EARLY to get your place in line. Items go quickly! We accept cash, checks, and debit/credit cards at the sale.

Wooden It Be Lovely provides women in transition (those healing from lives of poverty and/or in recovery) with a unique and empowering job. The women refurbish donated wood furniture and sell their lovely refurbished furniture to the public. The work environment is supportive and empowering. All sales support the Wooden It Be Lovely program.
Lincoln Legacy Lecture
The Center for Lincoln Studies has made the difficult decision to move our 2021 Mary and James Beaumont Endowed Lincoln Legacy LectureSeries to an online format. It is important to us to build our community and celebrate history without adding to the uncertainty that so many individuals are facing. We are dedicated to bringing you a high-quality online event.

If you have already registered to attend in person we will register you for the virtual event.
Just a reminder that another way to be kept up to date on the happenings of the church is to check out our Facebook page.
Covid Response at FPC

For the wellbeing of our members and community, we are abiding by new state masking mandates. Masks will be required for all indoor gatherings. Social distancing will be our practice as part of our layered mitigation strategies. We encourage everyone who is unvaccinated to consider doing so.
