It's delightful to worship in the garden!

Renovation Excitement!
This week we made exciting steps forward toward our renovation project. Following Session's approval of a local contractor, our Renovation Team met with the owner, Mike O'Shea, and Pre-construction Team from O'Shea Builders and our architect, Dan Raorty, from The Samuels Group. Together in a Construction Management process, we are gathering our experience, resources, and visions to develop a plan that will best fulfill our future ministry needs for an affordable price. The collaborative spirit between our three partners (church, architect, and builder) is energizing!

As we have mentioned before, we have 90+% of the design work ahead of us. The Renovation Team has begun the next stage of design work with our Construction Management Team. We are reviewing all of the ideas members of the church have shared, comparing costs, and considering alternatives. If you have more ideas, suggestions, or questions, please use the  SUGGESTION BOX on the Renovation Page

If you are inspired to buy a few extra items at the store, thanks for putting them in the micropantry!
If you would like information, please let us know!

Share your work with us! We would love to see and display your creativity and talent. Send us your colored pictures (scan, email, regular mail) and we will share them on Sunday mornings and maybe also on our Facebook page.
A Thank You from Senior Services of Central Illinois
Dear First Presbyterian Church,
Thank you for your generous donation to Senior Services of Central Illinois. We greatly appreciate your support.

Your donation to the food Pantry will assist our agency in continuing to provide emergency food to those seniors in our community who may otherwise find it difficult, if not impossible, to have the nutritious meals they need on a daily basis. Many older adults are living on fixed and lower incomes and must choose between enough food, paying their rent or utility bill, or purchasing their prescriptions.

Thanks to your gift, older adults in Central Illinois have access to non-medical services which enhance quality of life and promote independent living.

Thank You!

Helping Hands of Illinois thanks FPC for Contribution
Dear First Presbyterian Church,
On behalf of the clients of Helping Hands of Springfield, I would like to thank you for your contribution.

Without the continued support of our loyal donors, we would be unable to accomplish our mission of sheltering the homeless, providing support, promoting independence and working with others in the prevention of homelessness in our community.

Thank you again for your continued support of our programs and services.

Sincerely,
Annie Lantgen
Director Administration

Presbyterian Week of Action slated for Aug.23-29
Excitement is building for this year’s Presbyterian Week of Action, which takes place Aug. 23-29. It will lift up not only Black Lives Matter but other marginalized groups, such as Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, who have been the target of hatred and discrimination.
