HNB Moving Forward in 2021
2020 has been a year like no other. The HNB board and staff are so proud of how our entrepreneurs fought to survive and, in few cases, have even prospered during this difficult time. We remain deeply appreciative for the assistance of our supporters and volunteer mentors. With a new year, HNB is moving forward in 2021 to assist more minority businesses in the under-served areas of St. Louis city. See the list of the HNB businesses in this newsletter.
HNB Business Owner of the Month
LaKetia Carrell - Institute of Personal and Professional Development
LaKetia Carrell is the Founder, President and co-owner, with her husband Lee Carrell, of the Institute of Personal and Professional Development, an individual and family counseling business established in 1996. LaKetia Carrell, LPC., earned her Master of Education degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She has 34 years of experience in counseling, utilizing individual, family, and group settings.

LaKetia is a sought after speaker on various topics, including topics such as parenting training, self-esteem in children, raising a child without violence, identifying sexual perpetrators, creating a therapeutic home environment, substance abuse, youth mentoring and life skills coaching, among others related to her counseling practice.

LaKetia is also the author of the book Becoming. Becoming begins a journey of self-development and true self-love. It encourages the reader to challenge deeply held subconscious beliefs that affect every aspect of life and hinders one from their greater good. Visit her web site link below for more information on the services she provides. Congratulations to LeKetia as the January 2021 HNB Entrepreneur of the Month!
