Tips to Avoid Those Sleepless Nights
Sleep and digestion are intimately connected. At noon, when the sun is highest in the sky, your agni (digestive fire) is at its strongest and is better able to process your main meal of the day; in the evening, as the sun sets, digestion is not as strong. Eating a big meal in the evening can weigh down your digestion and does not allow for a night of deep sleep.

Nighttime is the body’s time to rest, recharge, and repair — which it can’t do if it’s working hard to process a big meal or heavy foods. Aim for a bigger lunch and a lighter dinner, ideally finishing a minimum of three hours before bedtime.

We are excited about next year, when we anticipate increasing our boarding school enrollment by 50%.

Thank you for making all of this and so much more possible.

And if you would like to experience first-hand the worthiness of a contribution to the School, please make an appointment to visit. As soon as you meet our students, your heart will melt.

Bob Roth, CEO of the David Lynch Foundation
Theme: Attracting institutional support for TM
by conducting larger studies

A major focus of the David Lynch Foundation
A major focus of the David Lynch Foundation now is to undertake larger research studies that will lead to a greater level of government acceptance.

The previous research has been excellent – of high quality and rigor – including randomized controlled trials in, for example, cardiovascular health published in top medical journals. However, the number of subjects in the study has been around 200 people. Such trials are classed as Phase 2. In order to qualify for government or institutional funding for TM projects, we have to commission Phase 3 trials, which typically involve about 1000 participants divided into several locations of 200 each. Such research will be a shortcut to bringing Transcendental Meditation to the whole population since it will enable TM to be considered as an effective medical intervention.

A Wellbeing Entrepreneur Says His Gravity Blanket Is His New Favorite Sleep Hack
That's because it's weighted and cooling. (Hot sleepers, take note! By  Devin Tomb Jun 21, 2019
For my sleep schedule, I have started to use a number of tools to make sure I get good, quality sleep. I travel a ton for work, but when I’m home, I use a  gravity blanket , which is my new favorite sleep hack. It’s both weighted and cooling. And I am devoted proselytizer of CBD. I use  P lant Alchemy CBD . It’s the best I’ve found in terms of quality, since it’s biodynamically farmed, and it tastes great. It helps me let go of the day, and gets my system back into pre-sleep state. I use the  Whoop  app to track my sleep to measure how I’m doing, and to make sure I’m making up for sleep in a busier week. I have three teenage boys, and so home life is beautifully full and rich, and requires flexibility in everyone’s schedule. I do meditate every day, and I have for about 20 years. I got trained in  Transcendental Meditation , and it has been a lifesaver. It rescued me from my mind. I can’t imagine what I would be like without meditation as my cornerstone practice. I’d be lost in my neuroses, and I definitely wouldn’t be sleeping enough.

Global Yoga Revolution. Why Transcendental Meditation Continues to Grow From Strength June 21, 2109
It has been sixty years since Maharishi Mahesh Yogi left the Himalayas and travelled to the West to introduce a revolutionary form meditation he named ‘Transcendental Meditation’ (TM).

TM was based on the principles behind the creation of International Yoga Day – that yoga is not about exercise, but about discovering the sense of oneness within by uniting mind and body and the expansion of human consciousness.

Today over 6 million people around the globe practice the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique on a daily basis with tens of thousands more learning TM every year.

TM has been the subject of over 350 peer-reviewed scientific studies from the Harvard Medical School and other leading institutions, making TM the most scientifically reviewed and verified meditation practice in the world.

“We would like to pay our respects to the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Narendra Modi for establishing International Yoga Day in 2015” a spokesperson for the TM organisation in Australia, Gavan Evans, said today.
