February 2019
A Great Evening!!
We are just coming off our annual meeting, and we are so excited about the great time it was for those in attendance. Most of our guests were all dressed up, even most of our church planters, for this gala event. Jeff Denlinger, President of WorldVenture, one of the over 360 in attendance, said in a facebook post, "What a fun evening last night at the  Pacific Church Network  gala! God is at work in Southern Cal...lives are being transformed by the gospel, churches are being planted, and communities are being impacted thru loving, bold disciple making!  Missions Door and WorldVenture are honored to share the award for best missions agency!" Others said, "it was one of the best." A big thank you goes to Pastor Jeff Levine and the incredible staff and volunteers at Bethany Church in Long Beach!

We are excited to see what is ahead for PCN this year. We have planned training events, retreats, oversees trips and more. We are also ready to help our churches with those unplanned situations that arise. Whether it's pastoral transitions, church health, financial questions or any number of situations, we are always ready and willing to come alongside and help all of our member churches as they share the gospel to their world.

Thanks for being part of Pacific Church Network. If you haven't done so yet, would you please put our logo on your website to help promote our growing network of churches? Thank you!

Happy February,

Jim Smith

Fantastic Annual Meeting
Our 2019 annual meeting held on January 27 was the most well-attended meeting we have had in over a decade. Approximately 360 men, women, and children gathered at Bethany Church for a fun-filled and informative evening of good food and exciting updates about church planting, church health, mission work, chaplains, salvations and more. Jim Smith, Brian Howard, Emilio Nunez, Jeff Denlinger, Rick Miller, Vicki Smith, Andy Meverden, Sam Yeo, Joel Webbon, Dave Darjany, EdPaul Cuenco, Rick Koole and Jeff Levine were all recipients of the first-ever PNC golden statue. We should have a link available soon for the photo wall pictures taken at the event. Thanks for coming and being part of our network!
Seminary of the Americas Graduation
One of the most dramatic moments of the 2019 PCN Annual Meeting was the graduation of three men from our Seminary of the Americas. With many family members and friends in attendance, Walter Canedo, Mardonio Tapia and Alonso Ventura walked down the isle of Bethany Church to receive their diplomas from Dr. Emilio A. Núñez, Seminary Director, and congratulatory handshakes from their professors. This diploma is a recognition of the graduates' completion of a curriculum that provided biblical knowledge and practical experience. These men are ready to respond to God's call for ministry in the local church. Each graduate gave a brief speech to the appreciative audience. Congratulations to these three graduates on a job well done!
The Footsteps of Moses 2020 Trip
At our annual meeting, we announced our 2020 "Footsteps of Moses" Trip!!! This epic journey will start in Cairo and end in Jerusalem, with stops at Mt. Sinai, Petra, Mt. Nebo, and more. A pre-trip itinerary includes stops at Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. This 11-day trip will be one to remember as we experience many of the same sights that Moses may have seen. Our 2019 trip to Greece sold out 9 months early. Put your deposit down soon to reserve your spot.
New CBAmerica President
CBAmerica has chosen a new president! Dave Whitaker is now the president and CEO of CBAmerica, overseeing and giving new direction to the 9 regional CB networks, which includes Pacific Church Network. Dave is the pastor of the 1,000-member Morgan Hill Church near San Jose, CA. He has also been the Executive Director of Next Generation Churches, which is the CB network of churches in northern California, and will step down from that leadership role as he moves into this new area of responsibility. Dave and his wife, Lanette, live in Morgan Hill, CA. We are excited about Dave becoming President and look forward to great things happening throughout the CB network.

Legacy Grandparenting Summit - 19
February 21-23, 2019
First Evangelical Free Church, Fullerton, CA

Grandparents play a unique and profoundly influential role in the lives of grandchildren—second only to parents—yet they are one of the most underserved groups in the church. The Legacy Grandparenting Summit has been designed to equip and encourage this generation of active grandparents to stay connected and involved with their grandchildren in positive and powerful ways. Through nationally known speakers, breakout workshops and an extensive resource center, you’ll find encouragement, teaching, and inspiration. PCN's own Jim and Vicki Smith will be participating as breakout workshop speakers.
