Happy Women’s History Month!
This month we celebrate and recognize the achievements of great women who have come before us and in many ways paved the way for our success. When I was in school, we had to read several biographies about famous people. I always chose books about women – Clara Barton, Helen Keller, and Joan of Arc to name a few. I felt so empowered reading their stories and learning how they overcame obstacles that we could not even imagine in our time. Now I do more watching movies than reading – have you seen Harriet? It’s about the life of Harriet Tubman who escaped slavery, then went on to rescue 70 enslaved people and became the first US woman to see military action in the Civil War.
While we can appreciate and learn from these past successes, we know there are still struggles that we face in the world today. That is why we encourage you to take advantage of all that The WICT Network has to offer!
We offer live events, mentoring, webinars, articles and of course...networking and friendship! I have never heard of an industry having such a strong women’s network as ours - this is truly a special network here in the Greater Ohio Area! It could change your life so please don’t miss out! I hope to see you all at our Women’s History Month event on March 20 where our keynote speakers will discuss Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and conquering Adversity. We will also have a women’s empowerment panel discussion featuring female leaders who are overcoming obstacles and making history in our industry and communities today.
