Corporate Transparency Act Update

Quick update, the Corporate Transparency Act has been blocked by a federal court. Two major key takeaways are:

  • No Immediate Filing Obligations: Thanks to this latest development, Reporting Companies are not currently required to submit beneficial ownership information (BOI) reports. This includes the initial reports for entities formed before January 1, 2024, that were due by January 13, 2025.
  • Voluntary Submissions: While not mandatory, the U.S. Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has indicated that companies may opt to submit BOI reports voluntarily if they choose.

Badger Honor Flight Fundraiser

Saturday, February 22nd, 2025

On Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, Rude’s Lanes will be hosting a Fundraising Event for Badger Honor Flight.

Badger Honor Flight's mission is to provide a "trip of a lifetime" for WWII, Korean War, the Vietnam Era Veterans. They are taken to Washington DC to view the monuments erected in their honor and provide them a well deserved welcome home at the end of the day. All at no cost to them.

More information on Badger Honor Flight can be found at BadgerHonorFlight.org.

The Fundraising Event will be filled with FUN, FOOD, BOWLING, RAFFLES, and SPECIAL EVENTS!

We are reaching out to businesses and sponsors in the area for any sort of donation you may be able to provide. Whether it be an item for the gift bags each bowler will receive with your company logo, a basket of goodies we can place in the Raffle area or even just a donation to help offset the cost of putting on the event. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated.

Donations can be dropped off at Rudes Lanes, 210 E. Holum St. in DeForest

Receipts are available for your donation upon request.

Community Partnership Opportunity with the DeForest Area School District

The DeForest Area School District (DASD) has an exciting opportunity for local businesses and organizations to collaborate with Harvest Intermediate School.

Starting this academic year, all fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students will be participating in an Academic and Career Planning course. The teacher, Ms. Rachel Steward, would like to involve representatives from our local community partnerships to provide real-world insights and applications of the course concepts.

We are looking for at least 12 local businesses who would be willing to commit to engaging with our students. This commitment would involve speaking to one grade level of students, delivering the same talk four times. This engagement will not only benefit our students by offering them practical perspectives on various career paths but also provide our valuable partnerships with an opportunity to meaningfully engage with our educational community.

If this opportunity interests you, please to reach out to Ms. Steward directly, rsteward@deforestschools.org. She would be happy to provide more details and discuss potential topics for these sessions.

Thank you for considering this partnership opportunity. We look forward to the possibility of working together for the benefit of our students at Harvest Intermediate School.
