Historic Flood Presentation - May 21 from 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Blue Earth County is rich in its water history. But with this also being Minnesota and having winter, this can also be a problem when water levels get too high. Learn about some of the historic floods of Blue Earth County’s past through this presentation.

Admission is $7/adults, Free for BECHS Members. This presentation will be brought to you through Zoom. Registration opens on May 14 at 5 p.m.
Remarkable Men of Garden City- May 28 4:00 to 5:00pm
Did you know there were ten men from
Garden City, yes that Garden City in
Blue Earth County, that went on to do
amazing things that are known throughout
the area, state and world? Learn more about
these men through this presentation. There is
also a book with the same title available in
the Gift Shop.

Members, friends, and supporters: Our staff had been making preparations with the hopes of opening on May 18th. Last night the State extended our closure until June 1. So that is our new target date, if there are no more extensions. We are ready with safety measures in place and procedures to keep our members and staff as safe as possible. We'll post those when our opening is in stone. In the meantime, we cannot thank you enough for the continued support and keeping memberships active. Grace Thrift Store Appointment Only - Donation Drop Off
THURSDAY, May 21st from 11:00am - 3:00pm
In order to adequately develop our new process going forward, we must calculate our workload and expenses, while working out our kinks with very limited staff.

This means the Drop off will only be available on THURSDAYS and BY APPOINTMENT. with COVID-19, This will require MORE from us, and in order to keep it all safe to the best of our ability, We will need time to store/sort/price/disinfect. *We also need to keep our high risk volunteers safe.


1. To drop off your donations, YOU MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT by calling 507-317-5593. (We have a waiting list, but its moving pretty steady.)

2. This is a temporary "no contact" service, so please make sure you have help unloading if you need it. *We will have donation slips available in the drop-off.

3.PLEASE do not overwhelm us by dropping off at your leisure- this this will force us to close the drop off completely -
or until we can catch up or get better stabilized. Thank you!

City Hall will open to the public on Monday, May 18. However, we ask that you continue to pay your utility bills online or by placing them in the secure drop box on the North side of City Hall.
All other public facilities (e.g., library, community room, park restrooms, public works facilities, emergency services building) will remain closed to the public until further notice.
