Box on postponement of State of the Region

The 2022 State of the Region, originally set for Jan. 21, has been postponed due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the Tampa Bay region. The new date is April 13 and event-goers need to re-register.

Esports Summit Features Gaming Tournament


The USF Muma College of Business' Vinik Sport & Entertainment Management Program will h the third annual USF eSports Summit on Feb. 3. The event features speakers and panel discussions about the high-growth esports gaming industry. It will conclude with a collegiate Rocket League tournament. Faculty Spotlights

Russell Clayton, an instructor in the School of Marketing and Innovation, was quoted in a Telegraph Magazine article about whether it’s worth it to take a pay cut and change careers in 2022.


Seckin Ozkul, director of the Supply Chain Innovation Lab, was featured in a WFTS-Tampa Bay news segment about pandemic inflation and one about Omicron's impact on the supply chain.


Han Reichgelt, a professor of information systems and decision sciences and director of USF's Institute for Data Analytics and Visualization, served as a co-principal investigator on a research team examining the impact of systemic racism in the city of St. Petersburg. The team completed its research and the five recommended action steps were approved by the city council in December.

Matt Kelsey (’14, BS, Marketing) started a new position as CEO and president of Deployed Capital Group. Kelsey is a former USF Muma College of Business 25 Under 25 honoree.


Angela Martin (‘10, Management) started a new position as director of recruiter delivery – Orlando delivery center – applications division at TEKsystems. Martin is a former USF Muma College of Business 25 Under 25 honoree.


Matt Joyner (‘98, BA) took over as CEO and executive vice president of Florida Citrus Mutual. Joyner joined the company in 2018 and has spent the last three years as the director of government relations.


German Lizandro (’13, BS) co-founded one of the biggest organic superfoods companies in Peru. He finished studying Mandarin Chinese and Russian, adding two more languages to his resume.


Malinda Renfroe (‘01, BS, MBA) is the new vice president of marketing at Publix.
