ILTCCABC Provincial Regional Representatives Meeting

Independent Long-Term Care Councils Association of BC (ILTCCABC)

ILTCCABC is a registered society under the BC Societies Act. It is a provincial association of family councils representing the collective voice of long-term care residents, their families, and representatives.

ILTCCABC is comprised of its member Regional Associations of Family Councils, which operate in every health authority in BC. ILTCCABC is viewed by the Ministry of Health as an important partner (stakeholder in the long-term care sector).

ILTCCABC contributes to the development and maintenance of independent resident and family councils in LTC.

Spotlight on Family Councils

SPOTLIGHT ON FAMILY COUNCILS

ILTCCABC has spent the last year promoting who we are and what we do. We now have active websites, weekly social media, monthly news, an expanding education portal and now advertising in directories.

ILTCCABC is becoming better known in our health authorities as we align with organizations. We have developed relationships with our health authorities as we participate and have a place on the agenda at the Regional Resident and Family Council Network (RRFCN) meetings.

None of this would be possible without our dedicated group of volunteer family caregivers and long-term care advocates. SPOTLIGHT on family councils celebrates family council successes from around our province

ILTCCABC newsletter team want to hear from you! Our goal is to feature different regional family councils each quarter! Send your SPOTLIGHT to communications.iltccabc@gmail.com

From Shortfall to Crisis: Growing Demand for Long-Term Care Beds in B.C.

The Seniors Advocate is calling on the Province to address the increasing shortfall in long-term care bed supply. This systemic review reveals B.C. is not prepared to care for the most vulnerable seniors today or in the future due to the ongoing, increasing shortage of long-term care beds.
