Congratulations to the Smith Family


On April 16, Jenna gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Samantha Bailey Smith. She was almost a tax day baby! We are so happy for Jenna and her family and wish them all the blessings as their family takes on this new adventure.

Safe Send Portal

As you know, we have transitioned to SafeSend for our organizers & tax returns, but there hasn't been one place to see everything at once.


We are now using SafeSend's version of a client portal. So far we like what we have seen, and believe that they will expand and enhance it over time. Some of you tried unsuccessfully to access it durng tax season, so we thought it would be helpful to walk you through getting signed up and what it will look like and how it will be utilized.


Step one: Get signed up!

It should be noted that if you are receiving documents from our office, you will be able to use either the "Lets Get Started" link or "Access Client Portal" link to get access to the document. Looking at the example above, the link on the left gets you directly to the document, the link on the right opens the portal and you will find the item sent along with any other item that has been sent to you.

Next, instead of entering your email address here, you are going to click on the Sign up link. Then follow the prompts to add your name, email address and phone number. Your phone number is optional and not required.

Once you confirm your email address, an access code will be sent to your email, enter the code and confirm. You are now going to be asked to create a 6-digit code that you will use as a password. This code should be something that you will easily remember or you will need to somehow save it because you will use it every time you use the portal. Enter Create Account. And you're done!

You will be asked to log-in officially and then you will see the portal.


This is the home screen. You will see that there are two categories in the overview section, "Pending Tasks" (things that require action from you the client) and "Completed Tasks" (items that you have signed or uploaded and no more action is required). Items that are "Waiting for Action" will be listed under the Pending Tasks. The box to the right will say "Get Started" or in this case, because it has been opened, it says "Continue".


The first thing you will see when you open the task is the note that one of our team has sent to you. Once you read the note you can click the X to minimize the note, but it will still be accessible.

Once you have closed the note, will see the items that have been requested to upload. Click on the upload tab and find the documents saved to your computer. If you need to re-read the staff note, just click on it. Once you have uploaded everything, hit submit request.


Now lets go to Documents:

Here you will find all the documents that have been sent to you and from you. The right arrow will open each folder and show you what is inside. For each tax year there will be, in most cases, a sent and received folder. Clicking on the right arrow in front of each folder will open the folder and you will be able to see what is inside. Going all the way to the right you will see the link to view and the three dots will allow you to download any item.

The last section to look at is tax payments.


Here you will see what payments are due for each tax year and you can view or pay the payments from this screen. Please keep in mind, SafeSend only knows about the payments you make within the SafeSend system. If you write a check, or pay your bill directly through the IRS website, SafeSend will not know you have done that unless you input that information directly into SafeSend. For this, you will need to go into the return and add it to the make payments tab.

As new features are added we will let you know how they work. Go into the portal and look around. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
