P2P and Monthly Grief Group Support

Peer to Peer Pilot Program: Volunteers Needed

At Carson’s Village, we know that each person’s grief journey is unique and that different things help different people. That’s why we are excited to announce the launching of our Peer to Peer (P2P) program, where you can regularly speak with someone in the community who has also experienced a similar loss.

Our peer supporters, or “Villagers”, as we call them, are volunteers who participate in 20 hours of training and monthly meetings through Carson’s Village so that they can be as supportive as possible to their peers. We match our Villagers and Peers with intention, hoping to help form relationships that will be as meaningful as possible.

Those who utilize Carson’s Village services may request a Villager at any point during their work with us and must be 18+ to participate. Please click the button below for more information If you’re interested in volunteering to become a Villager.

P2P Villager Information

We know that the road to a person's "new normal" after losing a loved one can be challenging. Carson's Village wants to do all that we can to help you on that journey. On the second Tuesday of every month, Carson's Village will be offering a free monthly virtual Grief Group Support Program. This is an informative series that provides an understanding of the dynamics of grief and what to expect; we will explore the myths of grief and learn strategies on how to develop healthy coping skills for adjusting to life without your loved one. We hope that everyone who would like support receives it.

Supporting Families Facing COVID Losses

Many thanks to the Dallas Morning News for again highlighting the work of Carson’s Village as one of many organizations supporting families during the pandemic. Whether the loss of a loved one was caused by COVID or not, families who experienced loss struggled with grief throughout the pandemic and still do today. Carson’s Village is honored to support them now and in the future.

Resource Map of Counselors and Attorneys

Carson’s Village is launching an interactive resource map on our website to help families find verified local grief counselors and attorneys who specialize in end-of-life legal matters. If you or someone you know is a grief and bereavement counselor or an estate and probate attorney, please email tamy@carsonsvillage.org. Our goal is to compile a list of subject matter experts so our families can find the help they need from qualified professionals in a timely manner.

United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ Social Innovation Accelerator

Just 18 months ago, Carson’s Village was a finalist for United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ Social Innovation Accelerator. This year, Jason has been mentoring another nonprofit organization that is going through the process. The Artist Outreach is one of the finalists at The Pitch on April 6, 2022 and we are wishing Founder Joseph Vincelli all the best on this big night! Tune in by registering here.

The 2022 Carson’s Village Golf Tournament will be here before you know it! Block your calendar for the afternoon of September 16, 2022! We will be back at Bear Creek Golf Club for a great day of golf and fellowship to raise money for Carson’s Village! Once again, we will have a CRAZY amount of great raffle prizes at the dinner afterward.
