League of Women Voters & Carteret County Chamber of Commerce Host Beaufort Candidate Forum

Election season is nearly here, and with it comes an important opportunity for Carteret County residents to meet and hear directly from those seeking to represent them. The Carteret County Chamber of Commerce is once again partnering with the League of Women Voters of Carteret County to host a series of public Candidate Forums this fall. All forums are free, open to the community, and live-streamed on the Chamber’s YouTube channel: youtube.com/@nccoastchamber.

These forums provide a neutral platform where community members can listen, ask questions, and learn more about the individuals running for office. Both the Chamber and the League are non-profit, nonpartisan organizations that do not endorse candidates or political parties.

These forums are free and open to the public. We encourage all residents to attend, engage, and take part in the democratic process. The Carteret County Chamber of Commerce does not fund or endorse political parties or candidates.

Hear from candidates for Beaufort Commissioner (two seats to be filled): Melvin Cooper, Dexter Matthews, and Keith Walker on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Beaufort Train Depot, 614 Broad Street.

Submit voter questions at carteretchamber.org/forums.
